I only watched the highlights on YT as I dropped F1 TV. It looked like it was a wild race. Really happy to see Williams be so much more competitive.

Some of those strategies looks certain teams had dunce caps instead of thinking caps.

Mooonza!

Wonder if Yuki ever thought about a flat truck hijack to finish his race?

My interest continued throughout the race for how the Ferrari team could mess this one up and had to wait for the last laps to tempt that itch.
Ferrari mission control sends msg ”no risks” :bellyroll: but must have had radio issues in the cars, nice to see the gloves come off off with no incident.

Is this like a loyalty coffee card? After 10 in a row Max gets a free race victory?

"George, Tire Management 6"

"Yeah, I don't know if you can see but I got a car up my arse"

spcmafia 09-05-2023 08:24 AM

I don't know if I have said it before, but you know that whole "Have you ever seen someone cry in a Ferrari?". Whoever said that, has not seen Ferrari in F1 for the past years or so.

I always liked these livery colors of GULF.
Especially on Porsches.

So, became a Lawson fan after that quali.

Is…..dare I say, it going to actually be a race tomorrow?

spcmafia 09-16-2023 02:21 PM

As dull, big, and heavy as the current cars are. Lance’s accident is a testament on how far they have reached in terms of safety. Had this happened 10,15,20 years ago, tomorrow we would’ve had a memorial instead of a race.

Im not feeling sorry for the RB team, Max was up to his sneaky tricks again
and that did not work out for him nor his tantrum in front of his team.
Just watch out for their comeback during the race.

This will be a good race for tomorrow, the HAAS boys trying to hold on
for some points and Lawson showing he belongs by knocking out
the top driver in Quali hope he can complete another race.

Go Carlos, George, Lando.

I might make a bigger coffee pot that usual for tomorrow morning.

From F1i.com :
The 'Carlando' tactic, or teamwork among rivals, was born in Singapore.

Im still unsure why RB did not pit under the SC like the rest of the sheep.

That was a great last 15 or so laps after having a tire management parade for most of the middle of the race.

It was a good move by Carlos to give Lando DRS. Even when the lead went to over 1.2 sec within the last few laps and Lando was under attack, you could see that he was watching his mirrors and backed off to bring him back into DRS. Merc really did have a good strategy, track position didn't quite work out for it. Dunno why they didn't flip Russell and Ham before they got onto the back of Lando. Ham looked quicker.

Carlos got creative. Well deserved win by his habitually Fuckitup team.

George‘s youthful spirit was showing at the end unfortunately at least HAM was wise enough not to follow as close to the wall,
Lando may have pulled the wall out a bit as he had hit it just before George redecorated the track.
(Lando confided his steering was no longer strait on that last lap!)

MERC impressed with their strategy, I thought they were both going for a podium finish.

HAAS managed to save one point after their great Quali.

RIC must be quite worried about his return and get his seat back… Go Liam!

ALO & AM were lacking & just not there…

I kind of figured that was RB/AT's plan was to run Ric the rest of the year and stick Lawson in the AT next year anyway. He is impressing, I am cheering him on though I was skeptical at first.

That was the plan I expected as well, but this is F1:laughabove:
