Active ft86 car club in socal
 

Hey everyone,

So one of the things that inspired me to get one of the new twins was in hopes we would have a very active car club/ or association . I had an opportunity to work with some friends who were part of the socal miata club back in 2005. one of the things that i found so great about that club was how active they were. and when i say active i mean large trips, long drives,weekend driving getaways and track days.

Is there such a club for the fr-s/brz yet ?

If not is anyone interested in working on something like this?

On a side note, in Vegas we are currently working on starting this exact type of group. We have about 5 active members so far (with a few more who just haven't been able to make any of the meets yet.) I had a tentative naming scheme in mind for each city...for instance, ours would be "Vegas86." Then each respective city could use the same naming scheme...then overall countrywide, we could call ourselves the "86FAM." (suggestion made by fellow Vegas member.) Just some food for thought...us guys in Vegas were also planning on taking a trip out for the LA Auto show for a day or so sometime between the 30th-Dec 9th. We'd love to meet up with some of the SoCal owners if you guys could get something together.

let me know when you guys are making your way down to the auto show. ill come meet up

If you guys come down on the 7th, there's the monthly Torrance meet. There's usually a quite a few of us there. Otherwise it'd be cool to meet up with you guys whenever you stop by. Just let us know! :)

If you could give me some more details on that, I'll run it by the guys and see if the 7th works for us!

Ah, my bad. Didn't mean to do that.

I'm not aware of any specific club. We usually just rep FT86 Club. Most of the events we've done was through here. Probably Facebook as well with Moto. But I don't use Facebook so I can't really say.

The cruise nights are fun and local meeting places are great but im talking about, not just getting to know the members in parking lots and mini cruises but a club that can set up large meets, weekend or even a full day trip to some great destinations, some twistys and interesting landmarks along the way.

Im down, do it up
