FWIW, my socal dealer heeded my wishes to not drill the front bumper when i picked up my BRZ. the front license plate bracket was in the trunk.
i also bought my outback from them last year and they asked me first, before drilling the holes in the bumper for the front license plate bracket. i'm going to run it without the front license plate until i get a ticket, and then i'll probably mount it with the supplied bracket as i prefer the centered look vs. offset. while i'd rather not put holes in the bumper, i'm going to use motorcycle M5 well nuts which are much smaller than the ones supplied with the OEM bracket. i'll use fender washers under the fastener head as the holes in the bracket are large. the holes in the bumper can always be plugged up with a rubber or nylon plug if the front license plate comes off. |
