Seat settings?
Just wondering what settings everyone has their seats set at? I'm not tall (5'10") average build, but I'm having a hard time finding a comfortable yet practical driving position. I feel like a loser, but so far I've felt most comfortable with the seat pumped up to the highest verticle setting, and the seat back fairly upright. It seems like I have more control over the car from this position, and frontward viewing angle is better.
Having said that, the seatbelt digs into my neck, and I just feel like I shouldn't have to be at the highest setting vertically (I would assume this is for someone that is much shorter). Let me know what everyone else's positions are. |
I'm the same height and I can't find the perfect setting either. I either feel like I'm sitting too close, too low, or too straight up. I have an FRS though.

i'm 5'10". seat is all the way down, far back enough that my leg has a slight bend when flat on the dead pedal, and pretty upright.

I've never had this issue before in a car (Genesis coupe, GTI, Lexus IS, Celica's, Prelude's, etc.) |

Don't get me wrong, this is by no means a terrible thing. It still feels awesome, but I just want the optimal seating position.

lol I thought I was crazy...last few days I been messing with the seat over and over.

I'm 5'10 also and got the steering almost at lowest setting, seat at lowest slightly angled but pretty straight. I personally like to be low and never fatigue this way, I hate high seats. It's ackward to get in and out but it makes the whole experience that much better lol.

I tried putting it down 5 "pumps" from the highest setting, and that seems to be more comfortable without sacrificing outward visibility. The only annoying thing is that the setting makes it too low to rest my left arm on the door sill, and too high to rest it on the arm rest. Oh well I guess you can't win 'em all.

I used the video @ducks posted when I first set-up my seating position. I haven't moved my seat since I set it up months ago.

The steering column also adjusts, no?

Personally, I haven't been able to tell a difference with the height setting and I've pumped it as far as it will go either up or down. I just leave it all the way down. I noticed this in my last car, and now the FR-S as well, I have a tendency to lean the seat back further than I sit, so my shoulders and head don't actually touch the seat. This is the most comfortable way I've found to sit. I remember some people having trouble with the headrest, but sitting like I do my head doesn't come close to it.

I have it pretty bad, i'm about 5'10" with long legs and shorter arms. steering wheel is pulled as far as it will go to my chest and the seat is as far back as possible with a comfortable bend in the leg on the left dead pedal. It sucks getting in and out of the car because the steering wheel is so far out and the back rest of the seat is almost upright.
I have the genes of a T-rex :( |
