Go with the Ca-Fi knockoff. It's better.

This one runs 4.0... I like that. And its 7" screen.

They only show one screen with android on it, the rest is windows CE based. I'd be a little hesitant on trusting whether it's ICS or not.

Yea... that's why i was asking feedback from everyone. Windows CE is a totally different OS from ICS... wonder if they are just running an application that looks like ICS. Which would suck by the way...:iono:

Well I'm sure it has Android on it, but I bet its 2.3 or 2.2... not 4.0.

Thats what I get out of the mismatched screen shots. I'd email the guy asking for a screen shot of the software settings screen in android.

Love how it says 1Ghz CPU multiple times then the specs show a 500Mhz ARM chip, this thing has so much false advertising on it, even by cheap Chinese standards!

I was viewing this on my phone... good catch. Yea I'll probably be saving myself from a scammer and just do a 7" tablet install or the ca-fi head unit. I want something with HD display though. :iono::cry:

I just installed the imitation ca-fi unit today. I'd love to have true ICS, but for less than $400 I think it's a good solid unit.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/150931020711...84.m1497.l2649

I wired the rear USB cable to the glove box and hooked up a hub there. Now I can hook up a phone, flash drives, wifi/cell dongle etc. without having things exposed.

My only real complaint so far is boot up time is about 30 seconds. Id like a way for the unit to stay powered on for 5-10 minutes after stopping the car so that when you take short trips you dont have to wait for it to reboot. I guess thats a minor item overall.

Two other minor issues; cant figure out how to change teh backlight to red like the cafi unit does, and you cant seem to put it in standby (turn off the screen) without turning the entire unit off.

I'm installing my imitation one in my other car today.

The Adayo unit has the built in "standby" mode for 5-10 minutes. It was pretty cool. I'm sure it's a software only thing. Just have to figure out how to program it.

On the Ca-Fi, you push in the tuning knob (right one) to cycle through screen brightness and shutting just the screen off.

Also, to note. I believe you can use USB powered hard drives up to 1tb. I wonder if the device ID is the same in the Android market, allowing you to download the modified version of Torque with USB support on Gingerbread. My other car doesn't have OBD2 so I wouldn't be able to test this without removing my Ca-Fi one.

Thanks for the tips.. I dont want to crash this thread, I'll PM you my results with torque and the brightness / illumination items.
