Wheel Directory: OEM Scion tC 17x7.0 +45

Not sure if anyone or anyone on here has done this... http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8345/8...06f69009_b.jpg https://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphot...01316590_n.jpghttps://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphot...86290659_n.jpg At first I did it for the lulz.... but then I kinda liked it. Cheap, temporary wheel solution. I had to enlarge the center bore to fit. No fitment issues at all. Been checking lug nut torques and have already gone 1600+ miles on them. If anyone wants any more pics, I can post em. |
they look better than stock 86 wheels!

looks good.

Yep I like em - looks better than stock for sure.

Added to the Wheel Directory!

FINALLY. Was trying to get my buddy to let me borrow his wheels. I want to see the TC2 wheels, the 18s with the twisty spokes on the FRS. Tried to get my dealer to let me add them as an option with no luck... The 225s on the TC's 18s are better tires too IMO. Those look good dude. Kinda like an RPF1

1st gen tC wheels on an FR-S
I found some tC wheels for dirt cheap on CL so I decided to start a little project. That little project ended up taking several weekends over a couple months and more money than it was worth, but I'm happy with how they turned out.
If you decide to go this route, there are a couple things to keep in mind: - You'll need to widen the center bore by 2mm (most machine shops can do this for you) - You'll need some oddball shank lug nuts with Subaru thread pitch (Discount Tire found them for me from Gorilla, part number is 73127SMB; they also had some in their warehouse from Bimecc but they were mislabeled and different heights :iono:) My girlfriend and I painted them using Duplicolor graphite/clear. Some rough spots but no chipping! (yet) It was a labor of love, I swear. :D http://i.imgur.com/wT0rcfr.jpg?1 |
Looks nice. Wish the frs came with decent stock looking rims. Nice job! I always wondered about putting these on my frs too...... Now debating more if its worth the work.... Lol

looks great for winter wheels

Updated my first post with the part number for the lug nuts. Discount Tire managed to cross-thread one of them while installing, so when I took my car in for its first service... shenanigans ensued. Luckily they're covering the wheel stud replacement and getting me some more lug nuts.
