Can't remember the cost of these but that is probably the price after shipping, duty and 12% tax.

The price list is ~$175cdn before any shippping, taxes, duty, etc.

Not to sure where you're getting that price from but Nigel from jdmparts is selling them for 190 USD before shipping.

Seller might have imported directly from Japan... shrug.

Mr.Jay 11-14-2012 08:42 PM

Sounds like it considering OP is a employee of a scion/toyota dealership

This is why I never ship anything to Canada

GL with sale tho

narfy 11-15-2012 12:53 AM

long story short... had i ordered this along with a larger order, i'd prolly have saved on shipping... and yes, i did ship directly from japan to canada... i also got ever so slightly screwed on this as well as they were couriered over, rather than normal freight... and yet, they STILL took forever to show up...

price just reflects what i paid... it's actually paid for by the guy who backed out, but i'd like to get his girlfriend her money back for something they'll never use...

feel free to offer something... worst thing that can happen is i say no... :)

oh yeah... i've driven my car with these on... and yeah, there's a difference... truenosan, dajoian and one other guy (neil) on this board also were part of this purchase... maybe they'll chime in on their effectiveness...

They definitely feel a lot more solid when you close and open the doors. As for the driving experience, I haven't driven it fast enough to tell you but I'll let ya'll know when the winter season is over.

I've heard these mentioned a few times, what does it actually do?

Mr.Jay 11-15-2012 04:48 PM

suppose to make a more stiff chassis as the TRD holds the doors better

cool part but I can;t afford that

narfy 11-16-2012 12:57 AM

not so much that they hold the doors better, but they take up the gap between the door jamb and then door... so with no gap, the doors cannot move up/down or back/forth... which adds to chassis torsional rigidity...

jay, i do agree that $300 can be steep for this kit... i'm only trying to recover some costs for someone else and i'm willing to do the leg work (shipping if required) or installation... which can account for a lot considering most people don't have the tools to install these...

if anyone decides they need to see these before they purchase, i would be happy to show them on my own car... but you'd have to meet me at my house as my car isn't getting driven for winter...
