Trading in my car at 64k miles - still haven't done 60k maintenance on trade-in car

Planned on doing the 60k maintenance myself very soon, like ridiculously soon, but they surprised me with my BRZ being in this past weekend.

One thing they were concerned about is if my 60k maintenance was done. Should I just have them do it or should I take off work and get this thing done before trading it in? It's an impreza that I bought from the same dealership.

My trade in value is key for me owning this car, because it'll put me in the 400-500 range per month.

What's in the 60k maint on an impreza?

It shouldn't be too difficult if you wanted to do it yourself. IIRC, it's just oil, trans, diff, coolant change. . .maybe brake fluid as well. It would only take you an afternoon to do yourself if you want to save the money. I believe dealerships will charge around $4-600.

Saw the title of thread and thought you had 64k miles on your BRZ!!

60k is spark plugs... thats what they are probably worried about

I mean 500 is pretty cheap for a dealership compared to my local dealerships, but I"m assuming they'd do the maintenance themselves at cost rather than for profit.

I can do all of these things in a day.

If it's a showstopper for them, buy the parts, keep the receipts and do the work yourself.

If it was key to them and the payment is key to you I would get it done asap...but I'd be hesitant about doing at their dealership since they may go out of their way to over scrutinize the car while it's on the lift. *2 cents*
