Very nice car, I love white!

It's high enough to be functionnal. Reminds me of the GT-FOUR's rear wing.

Love the MA61 mate! Any modifications done to it? You get the 5MGE don't you?

Oh, the 86 isn't bad also ;) :P

Sargy 11-29-2012 12:59 PM

My god what would I do to drive on those roads you just took pictures of on a Sunday morning....

So peaceful

GuerillaRacing 11-29-2012 05:14 PM

The aero kit is stunning. Congrats!

Thanks. I'm trying to keep it as stock as possible, as I have to since otherwise it wont pass the "Oldtimer" status in 2 years. I just changed the steering wheel to a smaller momo one, put in a Head Unit that likes my Ipod, and some Rota RB-R Wheels. The Rotas mainly because I dont get Tires anymore for the standart Rims (225/60/14) so I had to change to bigger wheels.

Engine differs here in Switzerland. There are 82-83 MKII Supras with the 5MGE engine, however without the overfenders. And there are the 84-85 MKII Supras (as mine is), with the 5M-E Engine, but with the overfenders. I love the overfenders so I dont mind to have the "crown" engine :-) This is due to Swiss Law on emissions back in that day, the 5MGE engine didnt pass the law back in 84, so they put in the 5M-E to be still able to sell it.

I'm not a fan of huge wings normally, but I like how this turned out. Post up some shots with the wheels on! I feel like it needs something besides the OEM wheels to complete the look.

Thank you. Well, its not always like that, you have to drive to the right spots. But yes, we've got plenty of nice roads around if you know where they are.
Wait till summer comes next year, I'll stick my GoPro on my GT86 and do a video on those roads http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13130 I'm pretty sure you will like them

Still havent broke the car in yet, so cant rev it over 4000. I "think" it sounds a bit more agressiv from about 3400rpm under load, but I'll put up a better feedback once I can use the full rpm range of the car

Nice... We didn't get the 5MGE here in Australia either, and had the lowly 5ME... and hence mine is now modified beyond all recognition...

Sometimes I wish I had a nice, clean stock MA61 again...

It sure is difficult to get 225/60/14 tyres though! I love the stock wheels, but not that much. CelicaSupra.com did a run of 17" repros, but they don't have the charm of the 14" in my opinion.

Did a DIY on the TRD Sound Changer, you can also find some Videos showing the difference of them in the Tread (Videos are from youtube, not made by myself)

Got my Diode Dynamics center console plates last week. Quality is really good and price is just awesome.
Delivery was fast as hell aswell, took only 5 days from US to Europe.

Love how it fills up the ugly black spot on the center console. Easy and cheap mod, and if i should ever get bored of it I just can take it out.

dori. 12-21-2012 01:18 PM

You can also fill up that ugly black spot by purchasing a Subaru BRZ ;)

that's nice though

Kilzod 12-23-2012 04:34 AM

Looks great - love the look of the TRD bodykit and the spoiler, and I'm not a fan of big spoilers... But it looks good!

Keep us up to date on the mods!

Has anyone been able to catch the name of the rear spoiler? Ive been looking all over the internet and can't come up with it. I want to go in to my dealership and ask but don't know what to ask for.

Its an original Toyota Wing, they call it "Aero Pack" over here and its an Factory option you can order with the car.

Here you can see the original Toyota Configurator (yeah, I know its in German, sorry for that)
http://de.toyota.ch/car-configurator...model=gt86#top
click on "Ausstattungspakete" (= Options) and choose there the first option, "Aerodynamik Paket"

Hope this helps

Thats the price for the whole kit (front, side, rear, wing) painted and fitted to the car. Not just the wing

Well I guess I read it wrong :P well thats not bad actually.

Kilzod 12-25-2012 11:37 PM

Not a bad price for a full kit and spoiler, painted and all, to be honest.

Sidewayz 12-25-2012 11:56 PM

Over here in the philippines its called Aero kit. But You can only get it with Automatic transmission. The aerokit also inlcudes different color seats. almost 50%red and black combo. Also the steering wheel is red. Is it the same there? Its seling here for 1,850,000 pesos. Converted to US$ about 45,000. The wing looks really nice to this car. I dont really know why most people dont like the wing especially in the US.

Also my brother told me the aero kit is different from the TRD kit. Looks the same to me. Its the same right?

It really is a good price. Over here Aero Parts are alot more expensive than in the US, the TRD Kit for example, including front, side, rear, wing, unpainted and not fitted to the car is about 4500 USD. Also, you'll have the trouble getting these approved from the State to be legal to drive on public roads.

Basically, over here you can costumise your GT86 almost fully to your needs. You can choose if you want full back interieur, or the red steering wheel/shift knob/Handbrake accents. If you choose to take the leather alcantara seats, you either get full black ones if you choose the black interieur, or you get the red/black ones when you go for the red accents in the interieur. Also if you take the aero kit or not, its also up to you and does not interfere with the transmission choice. You can also get sat nav, upgraded hi-fi system (not the head unit, only the speakers with a sub-woofer), tinted windows etc directly from the factory.

Prices ofc are here a bit higher then in the US. Base car price is about 44000USD, they'll charge you about 800 USD for metallic/pearl color, 2500USD for the leather seats, 2400 USD for the Aero Pack, about 3000USD for automatic transmission etc, so everything comes at a price.

TRD kit and the Toyota Aero Kit are not the same. Front and side have some of the same styling elements in them, but rear and wing do look completly different. Have a look here at the TRD Lineup

Sidewayz 12-27-2012 01:18 PM

Wow, it is different, but very similar. Both kits look good.

Killerbee 12-31-2012 01:50 PM

Did take Wingo out for a spin and made a Video of it.

some boxes fell of a truck today

still waiting on tires, they should arrive the next 1-2 weeks.

Your last post is perfect..I was just cruising through your thread checking out your pics thinking to myself "wow, beautiful car!! Just needs some killer wheels to be complete..." And the very last post solves that issue. What size tires are you running?

Thank you. I'm getting Continental SportContact5 in 245/35/18 square. I've tested Dunlop SP Sport and Goodyear Eagle F1 on my previous cars but the Conti are just way better when it comes to grip in the wet

chadstyle 01-11-2013 10:30 AM

I ran continentals on a few of my cars. I like them but I still like Michelin pilot sports the best for grip. I'm running Toyos on my BRZ with 255 tears and 235 fronts and its a pretty good combo. I didn't want something too sticky on this car as I like to be able to slide it around corners still. It's just too much fun not to. What offset are you running?

So Wingo got his new shoes today

however, he definitifly needs to be lowered now, as the tires are about 0.5cm out of the fenders on stock suspension.

Just some snapshots in the garage, as we have -billion degrees and snow outside I cant move him around atm to do a proper shooting
