Was browsing your thread looking for information about the tire size since I'm getting the same wheel. Ended up reading the whole thread and I admire the adventures you have with your car and its transformation. Wingo is damn awesome!

Thanks as well for all the information. Finally decided to go 245/35/18 like yours since I will also be running with stock suspension for a while or get 1" drop in the future but that will as low as I go since I don't want to sacrifice a lot of comfort as a daily.

Thank you for your kind words. Its very nice to see that my journal still helps out others, even after not really updating it frequently (as I see the work on wingo as complete, so no new parts incoming).

Good choice on the tires, and 1" will keep the car "daily-drivable" but completes the sporty looks you get with a wider wheel setup. So a very good choice.

Nothing new happened to Wingo, however since summer started the alp passes are open again. So I'm just sharing some shoots from last weekends drive.

Thanks, nice to see you're still around.
We had the last 3 weeks awesome weather, 30°c and sunsune all the way. So I was every weekend in the alps, enjoying the weather while it lasts.

This weekend I rented a WRX STI and went for a drive in the alps.... not a good idea, now I want one :-)

Never driven a STI, is it really that good?
Just don't trade in good old Wingo, you'll regret it...

so... once a bit of a different "upgrade" post.
Somebody decided to leave me a present at the parking lot

At this point I'm not even pissed. Its rather a "well, it had to happen one day, and I should be happy that it took almost 5 years to happen".

Anyways, I decided today to trade Wingo in for another car, so I dont have to deal with this shit anymore. I tried to keep the black and white color layout. So here it is, my new car

Yeah, its a rental, wingo will be back in about a week as they have to replace the whole door

Poor Wingo .. But fortunately its only the door. You live in a great country with awesome roads, very jealous! Also good to see you are still enjoying Wingo after 5 years. I remember lurking through this thread a couple of years ago and really enjoying your build :)

So Wingo is back home since about 2 weeks, but as it was mostly raining I could not do a photosession with him until today.

I really like what the shop did, they exchanged the whole door and you cant see any paint missmatch or anything, looks like nothing ever happened.

In some other news, yesterday my conversation from Toyota to Subaru has finally been completed, by signing a contract for a new WRX STI. I bought a MY17 model, as it was about 15% off sticker price (normally in Switzerland you have fixed price with no haggling/discount on new cars) due to the MY18 being released in winter, and honestly I do like the "old" front better than the new one.
For now I will keep both cars and see next year if the WRX STI is a replacement for Wingo, or just an addition for practical use and winter time.
I'll surely post some pictures in about a week when I can pickup the STI and put it next to Wingos Home.

Anyways, here are some Wingo pictures as of today:

Just got today the information on the final invoice price for the door replacment (I did run it over insurance, so it took a while) Damage was worth something little over 2900USD. So much nicer things I could have bought with that money...

JeremyR 08-18-2017 01:02 AM

Looks great! Paint match came out really good :)

Vin 08-18-2017 03:23 AM

Looks indeed very good, love your pics. Congrats on the STI
