how far in advance did you get "the call"
 

for those that ordered, how far in advance did your sales rep let you know the exact day you could come in and pick up your car? just trying to figure out when my sales guy should know if its coming in this month or not.

They never ever did.

I got a call that said it would be "the next couple of weeks..." 2 weeks later I got that call again *shrug*. then 3 days later the car arrived.

They really have no idea once it hits port how long it will take to arrive. Their tracking system said 4-5 days the morning the car arrived. It's ridiculous, but be patient... worth the wait for sure.

When I put my deposit down they told me they would have the car in 2-3 weeks. About 2-2 1/2 weeks later I got a call the car was there. I drove it off the lot that afternoon.

My dealer gave me my date once I signed all the preliminary paperwork. It was 2 weeks out at the time, then they called me telling me there was a 10-day delay, and then they called me 6 days early when the car arrived.

I put my deposit down in two areas about a month and a half in advance(number 1 on both list) BOTH dealerships told me i'd get it on release date within a week. Had a terrible experience with the GA dealership (some other car rep sold my car to another guy which pissed me off beyond measure) got my FR-S in my local area(Fort Walton Beach, FL) on the 4th of June. If i ever meet the guy in GA who got my car im gonna kick his teeth in(just kidding) but i WOULD DEF whoop that car salesmans A$$.

I did the pre order thing on a BRZ. Placed pre order on March 1st. Then sat back and waited. Dealer called me June 13th late afternoon saying my BRZ was dropped off.

I went in early Thursday to look at the car. Did a quick test drive and walk around and said I'll take it! Went back the next day (Friday) and drove it home.

Now at 5,600 miles and loving it.

I ordered mine in April and was one the first wave. They just told me the first week of June. Though I had to call them to find out it was in, they didn't even know since my sales guys was fired...

seems like a lot of you were the early pre orders. what about the more recent ones?

Does anyone know if you put a deposit down at one dealership and you find one earlier at another can you get your deposit back??

They let me know the day it came in. Wish they gave me a bit of a heads up.

Put the order in May 5th, got the car July 19th. It all depends on how much Scion volume your dealer gets every month. The lower, the longer you wait.

Those deposits are supposed to be refundable

I didn't order mine but they were expecting one to come in at the end of November. It ended up coming in on the Nov 6th, a week after they told me the end of Nov. I don't think they have a clue

When I put my deposit down I was given a rough estimate. Considering how picky I am with the color (and wanted MT) I obvious wasn't given an exact time estimate until they knew the one I wanted was coming for sure.

So deposit in June estimated to 10 -12 weeks

Got a call in October on when it will be on the ship. (It missed the first ship that was coming so it was for sure on the 2nd ship that was leaving at the beginning of November)

And now should be here soon and hopefully at the dealership around thanksgiving time.
