I am taking it upon myself to put together a club directory. This will be a printed or printable PDF file that we will make available yearly. The purpose of the directory is to create a network to allow a "pay it forward," mentality so we are able to assist each other when we are in need. I would love to get assistance with this project from any members, so please pm me if you would like to be a part of the project.

Please watch this thread for updates and additional info as the project takes shape.

For now I would like to find people to help in the following positions:

Data collection
Illustration/ design
Editors

If anyone has an "in" with any type of publication company that could help us cut the production costs, please let me know as well.

Because we live in such a diverse and somewhat unpredictable world, only those who give their information will have access to the information of others.

Obviously this will be the first edition, so it will need to be refined. Obviously I would love all the help I can get on this directory, so let me know how you want to help. If any vendors are interested in sponsoring the directory, we will create ad space. This would be a very nice way to subsidize the cost of printed versions of the directory.

but not sure if everyone will agree to share their information to others

Would you mind finding out for me? As mentioned above, we are going to keep the information for this project alone. We won't sell information etc.

I have already started receiving pm's with information as well. Probably the easiest way for data collection will be for everyone to email their information rather than PM.

Reminds me of the BMWCCA "Friends of BMW" book they publish every few years. It's a listing of club members who opt to publish their contact info in case travelers need assistance or want to mee fellow enthusiasts during a journey.

In the 10 years I've been listed, I've never gotten a call.

I would love to have a look at one of their books and see if we can glean any ideas.

I would like to release this in March of next year. If anyone can help with phone apps that would be ideal.

+1 It really belongs in the "shared" section or maybe in "general/other".

Yeah, with the type of traction a volunteer/ non profit project like this needs, I don't think this section will really help the cause. I messaged one of the Mods to find out a little more on why it is here and what we need to do to get it moved.
