Never liked the overall design, but Mercedes Benz REALLY KNOWS HOW TO MAKE A REAR END :drool:

This is why I need to win the damn lottery...

It is a very good looking car, but it is far from beautiful, if you catch my drift.

Cool, put me down for two! Yeah right... I've always considered Mercedes overpriced and unimpressive. But they do have that fancy aura about them.

But what really catches my attention is the tires. Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2!? Looks like there's finally a new Pilot Cup coming! :thumbup:

All I gotta say is just take any of the Black series cars out and you will have your preconceptions shattered. I got to drive a CLK Black Series and had the same notion of Mercedes just being luxo-touring cars. After a ride in an AMG CLK Black Series I was sold. The SL65 Black series was ridiculous, they ditched the retractable hardtop, put in a lightweight permanent hardtop, and basically turned that car into a racecar with Mercedes amenities. The C63 Black series is a monster and considered one of the best cars Mercedes has ever released, and now this...all I can say is I don't make enough money.

That's a badass car. But they really need to lose the rear wing. Seems so outta place on the car.

Yeah, I have not driven a top series AMG so I guess I'm being a little unfair. I've only driven lesser Mercedes and every time I thought, "Why is this worth 'x' amount of dollars again?"

Supposedly they developed a brand new tire for the Porsche 918...maybe this is it? :D

Yes, according to a Michelin news article,

"The hybrid 770hp Porsche 918 Spyder featured Martini livery and ran on Michelin Sport Cup+ tires (front: 20 inches / rear: 21 inches) as it completed the daunting 20.832km circuit in 7m14s, comfortably under the targeted 7m22s."

Although it says Cup+, which is a version of the old one, the tread design of the new tire on the 918 matches the Cup 2 we see here. But because the Cup 2 has not been announced by Michelin yet, they say Cup+ in the article.
