How shall I lube?
 

it seems like the suspension on this little civic I've purchased has a major case of the squeaks.

I'm debating whether to pull off the wheels and go to town with a can of silcon lube spray or take my friend's advice and take it to have an oil spray; asking them to pay extra attention to the suspension.

my big thing is if I do it myself I'll have to do it at the side of the road because my dad just redid the driveway and probably would remove my head if I stained it from the spraying.


any tips or advice? should I even be using a silcon spray?

Just an update:

Stopped in at PartSource (Canada's pepboys) and ran into an old friend. Asked him about what to do and he basically said, oil's and sprays are yearly fixes because they'll drip/wash off eventually. What I wanted was some Multipurpose car grease.

Picked this up for 5 dollars.

I tossed on some latex gloves popped the wheels off and basically crammed grease into any moving joint I could find. It wasn't pretty, but after driving it for a few days and letting it "work" it's way into all the joints I can safely say no more squeaks! :party0030:
This little civic winterbeater is ready for the daily commutes again.


TL;DR - greased everything! no more squeaks.
Total Time: 2 hours


Heads up: if you're gonna do this, pay extra attention and make sure you do not get grease on your rotors or brake pads...( I know better, but some of you may not)

Anyways, you just greased everything up and the squeaking has gone away? This is good advice because my buddy's Miata is very squeaky.

ok, no seriously, keep spray lube on the shelf where it belongs, not on your chassis..

its not pricey, you can get it on amazon, and its gonna last longer than the dino castrol above since its a synthetic, and was made for chassis type applications
