Washing in the Cold Months

So it's that time of year again where it's dark when I get out of work and its in the 40's and 30's. I was planning on bringing it to my local touchless wash but after doing some research it seems that might be harmful to our paint. My other option was to use a waterless wash by Meguiars. What do you guys recommend?

WHy is a touchless wash harmful to our paint? I was planning on doing that this winter

Just bring it to a touchless car wash.

I bet some people will say it's bad.

But I've been doing that all my life and I can't see what so bad about it lol.

I guess it has something to do with the soaps they use. Harsh to the clearcoat and wax

ONR - Optimum No Rinse is what I'm going to use.

touchless washes don't really clean the dirt off your paint. you still need to agitate it with a wash mitt.

i recommend using optimum no rinse.

This.

I have used Optimum a few times during the winter and all I can say is the product is awesome. I will say the only thing I have found is some sites still sell the old mix from like 09-10. Be aware of that as the smell is super weird, the product formula won't hurt a thing but the smell is enough to air your garage out.

2011 formula on smells actually remarkable.

I just used the pressure washer at the car was with rinse mode only and then followed up with the Meguiars rinse less wash and wax. Works pretty good. I might try the Optimum once I run out of this stuff

I don't think I've ever washed a car after October or before April. Interesting.

But then again, I live in Seattle so mother nature is attempts to wash my car every day from October to June.

Suck it up and just hand wash it yourself!

I did today. I used hot water from my bath so my hands didn't freeze off lol

for winter i usually do one serious sealant and wax in november and then i just power wash once in a while to get all salt and etc off the car. if anything find a local HAND wash. however i went all winter for the last 2 years in the STI not washing it and only power washing and the pain looked good come spring after an light detail. the main thing is sealing and putting on a really good wax in the fall
