Special Editions?

Ok I know the whole point of this car is to be inexpensive but what about special editions? Here's what I think will happen. Lets assume the car is called the 86.

Base 86-What we know so far about the car 22k.
Base BRZ- Same as 86, maybe more power. 25k.
86 Club Racer-Base 86 with roll cage, better seats, less interior shit, and more. 26k
86 G's- A 86 with a turbo and better suspension, maybe 260+hp. 30K
BRZ STI- Same as 86, maybe more power. 32k
86 TRD 2000GT- The idea behind this is to unleash the potential of this car. Maybe 350+hp, full TRD racing suspension, ECT. Limited numbers. 38+ k

Tell me what you think?

I doubt it. I don't think the market for the car is that large to warrant all those versions.

Maybe you'll have 4... maybe the two that are projected to come out, plus the BRZ STi and maybe a TRD version... if we're lucky.

Probably have a 180,000 dollar racing version too, only available to sponsored teams as well.

Maybe in Japan. I don't think they'll do that in the US though. They're just testing the waters right now, I think they'll all be the same except for trim packages. If it sells well enough or proves to be popular, we might see a higher scale model down the road, like the Mazdaspeed Miata.

dont forget the VenomRush edition

The Scion will probably have just one base model with many customizable options. I guess everyone's ride will be unique.

I think there's already 4 or 5 versions of the car planned!

low spec.
high spec.
Panda.
R Type (roll cage, no rear seat, etc)
...and then whatever Subaru does with theirs.

Not to mention TRD add ons.

^this. Every Scion so far has given one base model in which you add each and every option you want. I don't see them straying from there business model for this one car. Hopefully it comes with some decent standard options and then tons of other add-ons like they do now. They might come up with an release series version later on down the road but i anticipate 1 base model for the first year.

Do you hear me Toyota Japan???

I want R type!

No LED lights, Brake ducts rather than fog lights, Roll bar, Adjustable suspension. That is all I ask stock.

This will be true. There will also surely be Release Series for the Scion. These are typically the last 2xxx or so to come off the production line for the year. They typically just carry special features that aren't available on the base models like special edition paint, wheels, lip kits, etc.

Depending on what the BRZ's true specs and price are, I will probably shoot for the FR-S RS1.

Just offer the white body shell like Honda do to the Civic. Tuner will be more pleased with that.

WingsofWar 11-04-2011 05:40 AM

WingsofWar Edition?

i don't think anyone could afford what id do to that car if a sold it per my specs.

300hp max EZ36D, about 70k in chassis modification, including cantilever suspension. Basically a Super GT300 ready car.
