MAXIMUM you would pay for a TRD Supercharger installed?

Now that it appears that Toyota is seriously looking at a TRD supercharger kit for the FR-S, what would you be willing to pay for a 75-100 hp and 30% torque increase?

Yeah, I just read this article this morning.

I wouldn't pay more than 3k. However, if TRD charges 10k for a Big Brake Kit, i can only assume they will charge around $1.6million for a supercharger. Possibly less if you also write over one of your islands in Dubai.

That's not the same TRD that's making this supercharger

I wouldn't pay any more than $4000 and even that would be a bit high for me... However, whatever the price may be I'll probably end up doing it, if not for the factory warranty alone.

jstans84 11-02-2012 08:15 PM

I'd be happy paying between $3k and $4k simply to keep the warranty on my car.

I dont see how TRD would come in this low... TRD will get it from somebody like, Vortex, or something and relable it.

I dont think we'll see many under 3k for the kits, before install. 3500-3800 for a kit before TRD + Deal insane install... I just dont think it'll be under 4500

anything trd is not worth your money

roddy 11-02-2012 09:47 PM

I'd have to know what type of supercharger it would be before I would consider spending any money on it.

blu_ 11-02-2012 10:10 PM

Its going to cost way more than its worth IMO. Unless you are really paranoid about keeping your warranty, if they will even still honor it.

wrmathis 11-02-2012 10:26 PM

The TRD S/C on my tacoma works great and cost $4k to buy and i installed myself.

and most places quiote bout $800 for the install of it

Hopefully they'll just source the Vortec unit...

I said hopefully!

Matrix 1ZZ TRD kit is ~$3000.

Demandred7 11-03-2012 10:06 AM

I voted for less than $2000, but, I have no doubt in my mind that this will be $3000 or more :(. I just don't have that much cash just lying around (don't really want to put it on credit either). If some money falls into my lap, then it might be a reality for me. In the mean time . I always want what I can't have.
