I know it's not as big as a bumper, but I had my 5 AD spoiler painted to match my whiteout (won it from a raffle and it came unpainted) and it looks fine. I was trippin' over if it would match and honestly... you can't tell. It was painted by a friend of a friend who has a small garage.

Straight from the factory the paint on my whiteout bumper and hood/fenders don't match. As others have said its the plastic bumper vs metal.

Just get the bumper painted and don't sweat the difference. Any good body shop should be able to do a match.

When I had my spoiler painted and installed they got the match perfect. That is fiberglass right up next to metal.

Shit from factory my rear bumper doesn't match, apparently it's super hard to paint match Whiteout.

I did two hours of tinting and spray out test cards to get a match on a whiteout bumper. It hasn't been installed on the car yet but it should hopefully look better than the factory match (or lack there of)

I am on the same boat lol I am just going to buy another aftermarket bumper. Maybe Ings+1 or something else.

I was also thinking of this bumper, but I am not sure because of the turn signals lol

Application all depends on the paint system being used. The number of pearl coats will change the appearance both straight on, and on an angle. That's why it takes so much testing before actually spraying the car/part.

You bumper doesn't match as it is right now. And I haven't even seen your car. You will never find a metallic or pearl bumper that matches. The way paint dries and lays on plastic is different than metal.

They are correct that 'blends' on adjacent panels will help. The reasons being: When painted at the factory they have certain settings for the air flow, which would differ at every shop. This affects the way a pearl looks. So even on a metal adjacent panel a pearl will look different sometimes even with a blend. Your eye will be cheated though because the bumper will blend into the adjacent panels but adjacent panels then may not match panels further away.

At the factory they don't paint your bumpers on or even with the car. They are painted with a close variance on a different line. They pick one and put it on your car.

What you need to do is find a trusted, well maintained and up to date shop. Look for Water-borne paint logos usually indicating that they are up to date. Have the painter come out and discuss the variant, ask him for a swatch so you can pick the match. But don't blend all those panels, it won't help in the long run.

OR

If somewhere can fix the bumper then the match will already be there. They can 'blend' within the bumper panel and you should be fine.

But also there are a billion different tones of whiteout that different shops use. The "pearl whites," my friend had to have his tc repainted three times. It's not as much as finding the right paint but a shop that can match the color the best. Theres a shop around my area guarantees a match or they'll redo it as much as you want them to free of charge.

Yup, I just installed a stillen spoiler. While it looks AWESOME! It did not help the process at all. The entire car is smooth, the spoiler is sharp, that alone changes the color. Add in the variance in pearl, the white is slightly too light and you can tell in certain lighting. Funny part is that it's not really noticeable to anyone else but me, but I agree with you. I had to have the wing painted twice. The first time was too dark and a total eye sore. I could see it no matter how I looked at the car. The second time, it's a touch too light, but at least it doesn't stick out. I have to look at it in a specific light to notice. I'm quitting while I'm ahead :bonk::bonk: No one will know but me really.

On the bumper I did I had to spray 6 coats of Pearl and a drop coat. With my ppg envirobase system your basic pearl coat is considered 3 plus a drop coat. Color looked decent dead on. The flop (on an angle) was way too light at 3 coats. Almost a dead on match when I tested with 6 plus the drop. Matches the car way better than the rear, factory bumper matches the car lol
