IMO it is sexy and would be my saloon of choice if I were to buy one next year.

VSGTS14 01-09-2013 05:36 PM

my god. the interior rocks.

those headlights are terrible...split? ew.
the tail lights from the side look like smeared lipstick.
what is wrong with you toyota?

Rayme 01-09-2013 05:54 PM

Very nice and modern looking. Cars today have so intricated design, especially the light and corner design, that I'm sure the proportions look better in the flesh than on picture.

Coming from a prior current gen IS owner, I think this looks horrible (aside from the interior). It looks like the current gen but meeeeeltttinnngggg.

Neurytic 01-09-2013 06:15 PM

The Cluster looks awesome. What happened to the exterior?
I sent my gf the news of this, and she sent me back this.

This will definitely help solidify things even more. Just like Jettas, majority of the current gen IS' I see on the road in SoCal are driven by chicks.

This car has one redeeming quality - the LFA gauge cluster. The rest of it I'll pass on.

The grill, ugly or not, now suffers from the same problem Audi found with the RS5. It's too big and the badge locations visually unbalances it, making it look even bigger. Those cars either need a front plate or for the badge to be centered vertically if there isn't going to be a cross beam there.

The back of it looks like someone took an exact-o knife to an ILX. The exhaust of the outgoing car was much more integrated with the bumper.

Hopefully this car will at least have more headroom than the outgoing car, which is the only reason I daily the RX, not the IS.

I'm no Audi fan, but personally the Audi looks infinitely better than the Lexus. (IMO)

Oh Damn Andrew 01-11-2013 04:35 AM

Love the interior, not a fan of the exterior. The GS was executed so well, I dont know what happened here, though its nothing that a body kit or some vinyl cant fix. Its a little too extreme but people will still buy it. I may consider it as my next car after my FRS.

I think this design will work for Lexus. If this car were wearing an Acura badge or something, this would be a failure.

Centering the badge in the grill would look horrible, IMO.

But I do agree with you that the entire grill area looks much better with the crossbeam, with or without a front plate. Audi offers them with the cross piece only or with the cross piece with a plate filler. Here's a picture of my car, which obviously came with the cross piece and plate filler. I actually like the way my car looks with the front plate rather than without it.
