is anyone else struggling with this

Lots of rumors about the starting price of this car being 25k is kinda worrying me. I mean I can't justify spending that much money on a rwd car. 4 the same price I could just go out and get a wrx which will be alot easier 2 use in our area.

The Ferrari 458 Italia is "only" a rear-drive car. Likewise Top Fuel dragsters, Formula 1....

Is your struggle actually the price, or just your preference towards AWD? Of course, considering that your profile says you have 1 RWD and 1 FWD, seems that you're getting along without AWD just fine.

i was hoping to get out the door with 25k spent on the car fully loaded, but it is looking real slim at the moment. nowadays especially, when a hardtop miata can cost you just south of 30k, 25k starting price for the fr-s seems to make sense i guess...

I think his point is that given our weather in this part of the country the 25K on a WRX would be the wiser choice. None of the cars you listed are ever going to be driven in the snow.

Yay! I was getting worried, nobody started a thread about the price in like four of five days!

I really think all these people concerned with a car that is $25k new and come equipped as they are-are either out of the loop on new car costs (see the hard top Miata price), were expecting to get a $16k miracle, or are high schoolers realizing that they can't actually afford the car.

Now for those saying $25k as the price point and then seeing a WRX next to it on the lot for the same price, does have a point...if they need AWD where they live. Otherwise, the cars are equipped (money spent at the factory) quite differently. I don't think we need to list all the differences however.

Given that I live in Norway and drive a rear wheel drive a BMW I reckon I can say this with some confidence: RWD cars are brilliant in the snow IF you put some proper winter tires on them! Never been stuck with my car, even heading to the mountains for skiing trips.

The 86 even comes with a torsen diff as standard, makes a big difference with respect to traction.
