So I was going to mount and balance winter tires onto the stock rims and just for sh*ts and giggles, I wanted to see if it would all fit. Surprisingly it does with all doors and the trunk closed!! Well, there is a slight issue (last pic) where i can't shift into 5th or 6th... but it can be done! :bonk::lol:

You should have called me...I would've brought my truck to help you haul those around...Why do you Hate your BRZ so much??:eyebulge:(sarcasm)

dsgerbc 10-27-2012 01:24 AM

But why?
Should've folded the passenger seat flat (with headrest removed).

I did it a little differently, but yes, they do fit! I put five across the backseat standing up, two in the front seat, and one in the trunk.

did they hit the rear window much? i was afraid it would crack the glass

why are you moving around 4 wheels, and 4 tires, with four on the car?

I have 12 wheels (4 in the garage, 4 on the way, 4 on the car) and 12 (4 on the car, 8 in the garage) tires. What, you got a problem?

nope no problem, just wondering
splain please...

whats that 4 for daily driving
4 for track
4 for snow? I see some serious siping there

I need a similar setup, and am glad I'm not the only one! Sadly, I just want 8..no snow here, no siping needed ...

4 on the car are new rims with summer tires, 4 stock rims and stock tires, 4 winter tires. The summers were on the car and I was bringing the stock and winters to be mounted and balanced, where the stock tires would be removed for the winters.

OEM rims on the car. OEM tires on the OEM rims. That's 4 wheels and 4 tires.

Garage has ~16lb forged aluminum wheels with 225/45/17 UHP summers. That's 4 more wheels and 4 more tires. Next to these are my winter tires, which will go on the OEM wheels within a few weeks. that accounts for all the tires.

Got light cast wheels on the way for aesthetic. Basically...I have an extra set of 4 wheels and tires that I'm trying to get rid of (OEM tires and 04 STI BBS; separately).

Same for me. I suppose I could have driven over to the shop on the stock hockey pucks and had them swapped out that way, but I prefer to just drop everything off loose rather than have the shop jacking my car up and taking the wheels on and off. Doing it that way also gives the option to just drop everything off and pick it up later if the shop is too busy.

I can't get my 4 stockers to fit across the folded seat like that. I think it's because I have my driver's seat most of the way back.

One interesting thing is the relative width difference between the stock 215s and winter 215s. The stock tires have a much narrower tread. That must be how Michelin gets the lower rolling resistance. It's surprising because winter tires are usually a touch narrow for their width anyways.
