Yeah! I can finally get my enduro yellow bulbs back in. I am so doing this!
|
Just did this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/SUBARU-84501...94d03d&vxp=mtr [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Pico-5340pt-H11-Bulb-Connector/dp/B001TQYO88/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1351688687&sr=8-4&keywords=h11+pigtail"]Pico 5340pt #H8 #H11 Hal Bulb Connector : Amazon.com : Automotive[/ame] http://www.hoen-usa.com/fog.htm $188.45 dollars later shipped, all I need to do is swap them out and use a little bit of solder and electrical tape on hand. Definitely not more than an hour project. I am so pleased with the original post. I was pissed when I found out I couldn't buy the normal bulbs I use for Fog Lights (Hoen Enduro). I went through three different sets of PSX bulbs just to settle on that the fogs are useless and I have some amber LEDs in there. Albeit it looks nice, I want usability. Now, I can. Thank you so very much again for the post. I now realize that these fog lights are shared with various cars just like my heater switches. Rock on! |
Let us know if those are the right connectors for the fogs. They look very similar to what is on the back of the fog light and I wonder if they will slide over. I'm wondering if this is on the other end of what you ordered: [ame="http://www.amazon.com/TEMPERATURE-CERAMIC-Headlight-Connector-moisture/dp/B004IA3YQK/ref=sr_1_1?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1351709842&sr= 1-1&keywords=H11+connector"]http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...6L._AA160_.jpg[/ame]

J.R., if you had gone to the Amazon site and done a search for H11 connectors, you would see that they sell an H11 connector that has both style ends on it available for purchase. I only used that picture as a reference, not that you should buy that specific end. My question was only that, a question, because it LOOKS like the end ordered might not fit over the factory connector on the fog lamp. If it will, great, then I'll order the same ones when I do mine because they offer more protection to the connector. Was not being critical......if I had been, I'd a said it looks like you ordered the wrong ends.

OK, someone needs to come up with a plug and play pigtail adapter. I know when I bought a set of Euro projector foglights for my MK V GTI from ECS Tuning and they had included a pigtail harness so no cutting or splicing. I'm not a fan of any cutting of wires...like to keep things unmolested.

Why not just install led psx24ws to get white light instead of yellow? I found these on amazon they other day. [ame="http://www.amazon.com/PSX24W-Light-Replacement-Bulbs-White/dp/B006FYI5WU"]Amazon.com: PSX24W 9009 2504 LED Fog Light Replacement Bulbs White (Pack of 2): Automotive[/ame]
I also have noticed that my foglights really dont do much besides look cool. I really wish I could get my led running lights to come on with the headlights... That would be neat. |
Parts are trickling in. Hope to do this conversion this Friday/weekend.
|
I know we can make an adapter for this but if anyone is able to make one of these things; I'm willing to pay for it.
Only way I can think of to make an adapter for this sort of thing is to source out a wrecked vehicle and cut off it's harness for the H11...solder it to a wire on one side but what about the PSX24W side? How can we deal with that side as the other end is suppose to simulate as the bulb side?:iono: |

Received all the parts. Verified they all work good together. Will do the install tomorrow. Will take pictures.
So far, very happy with the quality of all parts. Should take an hour to retrofit both fog lights. |
Good evening everyone.
So I did the fog light conversion from the original PSX24W to H11.
Well worth the effort. Extremely happy. If you don't want to cut the factory wires you can buy the connectors here: http://autolumination.com/connectors.htm and make your own pigtails. Then it is "plug & play".
xcelir8brz - it was super easy wasn't it...like they were meant to go there before some bean counting accountant found something cheaper. |
