Garage FR-S at home or pay a shop/someone else?

With this 'hurricane' coming through NJ, I'm concerned about my FR-S. Really don't need a destroyed car 3 weeks into my ownership. So what would you do if you were me? Garage it at home or pay someone else until the storm passes?

The last storm we had destroyed a lot and it was nothing like what they're calling for now.

couple questions: is your garage under a tree with a large branch? do you have any sort of insurance that'd cover damage from hurricanes? do you have any friends with concrete parking garage?

One big pine ~20 ft. from the garage area (really why I don't want to keep it here at that time), insurance I'm not sure if it covers hurricanes and I do tech work for a detail shop here that has a concrete garage so I'll be asking them today if they'd keep it for me. Don't know if I'm being over reactive or just pro-active :P

Mine is going into a city parking garage.

Mine is going into the detail bay at my friends carwash for the weekend.

And no your not over reacting!

Tough call. Being up in Mass, the 'canes usually die down significantly or blow out to sea by the time they get here. If you had damage the last time, maybe you should put it someplace safe. Whatever makes you feel most comfortable.

Make sure you don't park it in a potential flood zone!

I saw that thread. Yike :(

If it were me I'd look for protected parking for sure. Gives you peace of mind and wards off Murphy's law. Godspeed to everyone in hurricane country.

I live in Brick, NJ two miles away from the beach. I'm just going to ride it out with my car sitting in my driveway...I'm more concerned about my family and house. If you can find a place to store it go for it.

Im leaving mine at work inside our shop, its sitting next to a ferrari, two porsches and a rover, if it gets damaged we have larger concerns.

lololololololo Man everyone is scared of some storm with wind gusts Cat 1?

From South Florida here. We have Cat 1 - 3 most of the time. Make sure no trees, loose shingles, posts, are around and is your garage concrete or wood?

We know a thing or two about Hurricanes as you can see previous storm paths thru Miami:

I'd say just Garage it. It'll take more than Category 1 winds to unroot a 20ft pine.

But branches can break off at considerably less than that, especially in the case of a diseased or otherwise weakened tree.
