:word:

even if you get the Toyota/Scion variant you should be able to roll to Subie meets and park your car. people who are gonna get hung up over the badge are people worth ignoring.

Sometimes I feel like a badass and pull up my Yaris next to a modded car. (Recently it was a 2010 Evo).

I told em'..

"Yo.. my car has 104 HP vvti and goes 0 to 60 in 16.3 seconds"

The guy just stared at me.

I'll record it next time. Since it was a friend of mine I ran into on the street. :D

Just be sure to set your record speed to a quarter mile at a time, it would be a shame to run out of memory on the camera

The DosXX is on me whenever we end up at the same meet as each other.

It's funny I noticed w/ the last "new" Si came out they had similar talks and someone started selling stickers (to support the website they were on or something) and they used the chassis designation for part of the logo. Well it was mainly the Si guys that were doing it and got all bent out of shape when the non-Si guys had them on their cars lol

I can see it now owners of the FR-S and BRZ w/ the same type of logo decal and one of them (if they didn't know the cars well enough) getting mad

Sorry if I missed it, but what is "AS1"? Is it the internal chassis code like "S15" for Nissan Silvia, "E90" for BMW 3 Series, "997" for Porsche 911 or "W221" for Mercedes S Class?

Yes

. Last year, Toyota decided to sell U.S.-bound cars as Scions, so technically  there will be three iterations of  the AS1, including those sold as Toyotas in foreign markets where Scion doesn’t exist.

LMAO! I want to see that video!

Now is your Yaris had hydraulics...or 24 inch rims, that would be even funnier!

LMAO!

Source? Look at the top of the forum. Hachi has included it in the forum naming.

Yeah he sent me a few pms (and a link to a very old article about the car(s) which was way outdated for information

I googled some stuff and sent him quotes etc.. he wants to know where AS1 came from (one article came from a source at Subaru/Toyota) during a test.

I don't see why not, and if I end up getting an AS1 I'll be running with the 'no-badge' crew. Subi or Scion

i don't want to hi jack this thread.. i was looking for what i thought was common knowledge that i was missing.. it turns out that i'm not the only one so i will start a new thread.

as for being divided.. the site already segregated subie into it's own camp (other than pics) jokes :)..

i think just like anything else there will be clicks but for the most part we will unite under the metal, motor, and drive line .. dare i say .. AS1
