Mazda MX-5 Spyder & Turbo2 announced for SEMA
 

Mazda has announced plans to introduce the MX-5 Spyder and Turbo2 at the SEMA Motor Show.
First up, the MX-5 has a new front bumper, revised side skirts and a bikini top. There's also tinted headlights, Brembo brakes and Advan Racing wheels.
The Mazda2 based Turbo2, on the other hand, has a front lip spoiler, extended side skirts and a prominent rear wing. We can also expect Brembo brakes, Katzkin seats and one of Mazda's "most powerful turbocharged engines."

...but wasn't Mx5 a convertible to begin w isn't it? So What's the difference Spyder or convertible.

As for turbo, is Mazda Miata turbo or Mazdaspeed Miata turbo like last turbo ver?

turbo mazda 2 only weighing like 2200lbs..hm lol

I'm guessing they removed the retractable roof parts making it lighter.

They should just make a superlightweight coupe around 2200 lbs, put a new turbo renesis engine in it around 220 hp and call it a day.

Wouldn't it be pretty badass if they stuck a turbo rotary in the 2?

When I think Mazda Turbo2 I think of the FC3S lol

A MS3 engine in a M2 would be kinda ridiculous.. fun but I'd imagine the torque steer would be even worse in such a light chassis.

Kinda annoying with the Boxster Spyder top rip off..
