Whistling sound..?

Drove the car in a cold morning but i did let the car fully warmed up before driving it. When i was on my way home from dropping off brother to school, in a freeway accelerating around 70-80, i was hearing whistling type of sound but not constant and just on that speed but don't have any clue where that sound is coming from. Any clue guys? Did this happen to you?

Doesn't this car have frameless windows?

Yeah frameless but it should be heard already around 60mph? It is just so sudden cuz i i've been driving that mph ever since but it is just the first time i heard it..

My 03 outback had the same problem which Apperently common with the second gen outbacks. The fix was to squeeze the area the mirror bolts to and the backing plate where the tweeter was optionally mounted together because over time the window going up and down would spread the two pieces apart allowing air to come in. Not real sure if the frs doors are set up the same but sounds like its worth a shot

Is it actually a whistling or a humming/whining noise it could be the resonant frequency which is around 70mph

Kinda of like that thing bro.. You have it?

ButtonMasher 03-11-2014 01:52 PM

Mine makes a constant whistling noise at any speed. Did you figure out what it is?

Simon99 03-11-2014 01:54 PM

I had what though was a whistling noise which ended being caused by the radio on an unplugged aux cable when affected by automatic volume control (the shit that turns up the volume when you WOT and turns it down when you stop) ?
