Hard to See at Night with Tinted Windows?

I'm debating whether or not to get my windows tinted to preserve the interior and to reduce glare but am I the only one that finds it hard to see at night with tints? I had them before, may have been a little too dark since I had to roll down my windows at night to make turns safety. Am I the only one or should I just go lighter next time?

I thought the same when i got my first car. I had 20% all around, its just something you get used to i guess. Just be safe

cant really tell, it all depends on your eyes.

i have 20%all around including front window and i can still see clearly

Nope. I had this problem as well with my previous car and I did the same thing (roll down my window at night). Didn't really bother me though. I'll eventually get the BRZ tinted the same way as my previous vehicle.

Maybe just go with a lighter tint. 20% on the back and 35% on the fronts.

I got 15% back & 35% front. It made it better i can tell. It's just a matter of getting used to it i guess. I can go darker but don't want higher risk of fix it ticket.

I had the same issue. We bought a new CR-V a year ago and the dealer had the windows tinted before we purchased the car. I am not happy driving that car at night. That has been the biggest influence in convincing me not to tint the windows in my FR-S.

With how obnoxiously bright many people's lights are, I find window tint a necessity to drive at night.

I have 20% all around and don't really have any issue.

Looks sufficiently dark too:

I have 20% on my Honda Ridgeline, and It's awsome during the day, but at night I have a little bit of a problem backing up using my side view mirrors. You loose some light via the mirror, and the tint.. Not every time, but if its a poorly lit parking lot... I roll the windows down.

I have Solar Adaptive Transition Tint on mine, 35 during the day and 45 at night. It's a great product if you want tint that keeps sun/heat out and still allows visibility when it's dark. More info: http://www.evsmotors.com/sat-solar-a...in-houston-tx/

I did 30% all around. I have no issues, but, I was definitely concerned about visibility especially at night. Originally was going to go 35%, but, tint guy persuaded me to go to 30%. Loving the look and besides, you can't tint the front windshield other than a strip at the top (I didn't do that).

This helped me somewhat in deciding the level of tint:

I have 35% and I have a hard time sometimes. Especially reversing I have to roll down the windows.

Woah, I've never even heard of that! Sounds perfect. Only problem is that A) I can't seem to find anyone in Southern California that carries it and B) I think the highway patrol would still give me a ticket for it. Thanks for posting though I'm gonna keep an eye out for it.

On a side note, how do you guys feel about the tinting the top strip on the front windshield? I'm thinking about going 35% all the way around including the front strip.
