the veloster was never going to do any good.... its sloppy and doesnt do what a sports car needs to do well first and foremost, feel responsive/handle well.

But the Hyundai falls at the last, but perhaps most important hurdle for this category. Its overall balance and handling finesse are, while much improved over previous Hyundais, still not up to the lofty standards of others in the category.

my prediction will be:
BRZ 1
Renault 2
86 GT 3

provided they get this bit of info right:

Apart from a few minor cosmetic and equipment changes and slightly firmer front suspension on the Toyota

No one product can be all things to all people. To me it is irrelevant as to where the BRZ/86 comes in this test. Does the car I am buying suit me? Yes it does. Will it suit everybody? No it won't.

Having driven a Veloster, I was extremely glad with my choice, and it put into prospective how cheap the 86 is.

I put my biased people's choice award vote in. Vote 1 Toyota 86

its quite handy though if it takes out COTY for resale value however.... ;)

one of the reasons the GTI holds value so well...
