Thinking about doing this grill mod
http://www.instructables.com/id/Make...ur-Car-for-10/
Replace the front grill, and also dremel out the plastic where the fog lights would go and put the same thing there. Thoughts? |
Oh, I'm positive there's gonna be some haters. Probably a few people throwing around the word "rice" in response to it.
But personally? I've always liked a well-done mesh grill look. I say go for it. |
Stock grill > Chicken wire
|
The chicken wire reminds me of modding in the late 90's early 2000's...I didn't like it then.
|
I think the key to making this work is finding the right mesh pattern.
|
Mesh grills look tacky as fuck.

I know its not mesh, but....Maybe something like the new mustang? Could be done the same way as in the instructable if you find the right material. Just throwing out ideas here, not looking for a flame war. |
I'm so tempted to try and make a grill.. NOT with mess, but 1/8 aluminum stock..
|
what did you have in mind?
|
This doesn't look tacky to me. Looks a whole lot better than plastic.

i personally think you should do it if you think it is a good idea and then show us you were right...but either way ppl are going to not like. (me, i think it could look very nice if executed properly)

Use black plastic Gutter Guard instead of chicken wire. Much cleaner looking:
