ft-86 drift

i cant wait to see the drift king, to drift the ft-86, and others like nob and orido. ft-86(trd) is what i really want! im all ready saving the money for a huge down payment for it! i wonder what jdm tuners are gonna do! like MCR, JUN, MINES, AMUSE, SPIRITS, KEI OFFICE, HKS, GREDDY... i think every body will work on this car or try to beat it at gunsai touge. lol GT-R 35 vs. FT-86 w/ INITIAL D rules! :burnrubber:

HCN 12-02-2009 03:19 AM

Initial D is okay? However I agree with you that I can not wait to see what big name tuners will pull out of the bag for this; things are going to get a bit crazy ;)

OldSkoolToys 12-03-2009 02:50 AM

Tsuchiya's personal FT-86 vs. Amuse S2000 Touge Monster.

Touge showdown Max! Who will win?

THATS what I'm waiting for..bwhahahaahhaahahahahaha.

S2KtoFT86 12-03-2009 11:21 AM

Sorry, I'd have to bet on the GT1.

J's Racing S2k is current Touge Monster? Oh wait that's 300 class.

IIRC GT1 is 300 Class, so racin' against 200 class isn't fair I think.

Yeah, the GT1 is -not- the Touge monster I was talking about. Thats a bit overboard. I think it was the R1 maybe?

@ichitaka, its been awhile since I've watched any updated Best Motoring videos, so if I'm behind the times I'm a little sorry. I haven't seen an episode of a car upstaging the Amuse S2000 on the Touge for its rank as Touge monster, but I would love to see it!

Yup R1 is the orange 200 class Touge Monster.
http://www.spc.org.uk/honda/i/custom-s2000-000.jpg

and as for BMi, it had a lot of good stuff... I also like BMi Tsuchiya AE86 fan vids too. As for quick update on Touge Moster.
Class 300, GT1 was beaten by J's Racing S2k (N/A) and J's Racing still has the 300 Class Touge Moster Title.
For 200 Class, I'm sorry... I can't remember.
Max Class, IIRC MRC took back the title from RE Amemiya's Rx-7 w GT-R (R35)???? :iono:
& extra news: Ito Daisuke (Autobacs GT500 Driver) crashed and had a skull fracture, brain contusion while filming the Touge Battle. Result was canceling of Touge Racing... but IIRC vol 100 they brought it back, due to a lot of BMi fan's request, but old crew (Tsuchiya, Orido, Taniguchi) are testing the cars at the circuit before trying it out in Gunma.

wow, that sucks to hear about Ito. I hope he was able to make a full recovery from the accident. On the flip side of the coin, I'm glad it didn't kill off the Touge races.

trueno 12-05-2009 04:39 AM

safety first people! and...... well, its not the first time the touge monster attacked! the touge battels will never end because that really is the true test for any car! the track is to predictable and the touge isnt. its a diffrent set of rules and standards, you cant set up a car for the track and then expect it to perform the same (with the same setting) on the touge! duh the r1 s2000 was set up on the street! not at tsukuba. and duh the r1 2000 lost to a civic on the race track!

It's a test, it's not the only true test.

trueno 12-06-2009 05:47 AM

:sigh: i guess your over looking the fact that the r1 tuned for the touge... (with the same set up), lost on the track to a civic! any way this is kinda way :offtopic:. well... lets get back to the ft-86

S2KtoFT86 12-06-2009 11:58 AM

That's why they should break out the GT1 and hand that EK it's ass.

Don't forget driver make a difference too. Not dissin' on Orido, but c'on we're talkin' bout Tsuchiya here. Give him his 86 and he'll beat R34 on the track (well Orido did too). If Tsuchiya was in R1 do you think it had the same result?

Also that R1 is ver 1.0. They upgraded to ver 2.0 when they tide on Touge Battle later on. IIRC changed front under diffuser, suspension & front wheel base chassis part. Well either way lost is lost. Esprit make good cars (mrs)

Turbo vs NA isn't fair specially when GT1 is made for track use time attack. :bellyroll:

What does this have to do with your previous statement that a touge is the true measure of a car? Absolutely nothing.

Poor, poor S2k, all she wants to do is go really fast on a twisty road, why some one had to throw her sideways.

OldSkoolToys 12-08-2009 05:57 PM

Whats up with S2K drivers trying to drift and totally failing at it? (Broad generalization, I know, its not a serious comment, it just ties into the story below)

Long time ago (bout 5 years), back when our drift spot was still something of a mystery to the outside world, one of those outsiders somehow found his way to our spot on some information that another person should have kept to themselves (this ultimately led to more people coming out to watch us drift, and ultimately, the property owner PWNING our asses with a gate, security guard at night, and 100000tons of gravel in the back lot).

This particular person was driving an S2K and decided to try it out. Not more than a few attempts in he completely understeers (came too hot into the turn) and goes over the curb, barely stopping before hitting some trees. Dodged a bullet right? Wrong, he completely ripped apart the bottom of his transmission teeter-tottering over the curb.

I mean, none of us wished that upon the guy, it certainly sucked hard core. But damnit, if its your first night trying to drift, you should probably not try to do what the other guys (us) were doing because, hey, we have a bit of experience. Only reason it peeved me is because it started the downward spiral of our sacred saturday night drift spot being lost to us for all time.

That sucks.. about the spot I mean, I guess the guys s2k too.. lol

But at the same time, that why I don't share my road with anyone. It is a semi-busy road during the day, but anywhere after 10 its dead. Too bad it is so short though, and I live in Texas... so there is no uphill, no downhill... just alot of curves. But its a good driving road, for where I am anyway.

trueno 12-09-2009 04:20 AM

i got a spot to go to late at night too... here in c-town tx . its 10 miles south of town on i-35 but its the access road that goes under the under pass and ends up on the other side of i-35 and yet again goes under the underpass to get back on the other side where you were before... great fun spot! i was able to drift there w/ a chevy s-10 (standard) i had at the time. when the weather gets better ill post some pics sometime. lol its kinda the texas touge! :burnrubber:

your story reminded me of a kid 6 or 7 yrs ago when cops dont go to mountains to catch touge runners, ok my story goes like this. Before we hit the mountains back then we meet up at shell gas station to get fuel, adjust tire pressure and ect., a kid in a white integra was getting fuel also, noticed we are up to no good (2 240sx, 1 AE86, 1 BMW E30 & 1 FC3S TII) waited for us and followed us going up the mountain (we didnt really care his at the end). So the fun doubles going down his at the front since his at the end, so we told everyone to wait for him to go so as expected show boating made a tire peel as soon as he made a U turn, after a few mins we started moving and at the first tight right hand turn we saw him. here are the pics that night try to find me on the pic.

It's not just S owners, hell, it's all RWD owners and some FWD owners trying to tray slide. On a side note, I wasn't trying to drift when I wrecked mine, it broke loose when it was raining and I slammed into a curb. I suppose if I knew how to drift then I could've corrected it. :iono:

I wasn't aiming specifically at S2K owners, I just had a second fail S2K drift story to tell.

@4a: Hahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahaha, that kid better be glad he got away with that pitiful amount of damage / didn't get hurt. You gotta respect the road and you car (as a death machine) or you'll end up like that.
