Arcan XL325R Low Profile Jack ($99 at CostCo)
 

not sure where to post this, but i wanted both BRZ and FR-S owners to see it.

so i was looking for a low profile jack for the car since i was planning on doing wheel (winter/summer) swaps and oil changes and what not myself. came across the Arcan XL35 on amazon here: [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Arcan-Quick-Lift-Professional-Service/dp/B000Y9YGX4"]Arcan Quick Lift Professional Service Jack - 3 1/2-Ton,Model# XL35 : Amazon.com : Automotive[/ame]. price looked good and reviews seemed great so i was ready to pull the trigger until i came across a few reviewers saying they found the same jack at CostCo for $99, but the posts were from about a year ago. figured i'd check it out anyways before i purchased and sure enough, CostCo had about 12 of them just stacked in an aisle towards the back. only difference though was that it was the XL325R instead of the XL35.

also the R is just cuz this jack is red.

so yea, $108 and change out the door. great deal for those of you looking to buy a jack for their FR-S or BRZ.

edit, just looked at the thread you linked, 104lbs OUCH!

Says the shipping weight is about 109lbs, so just a hair under that probably.

NorthernTool says ship weight is 109lbs

edit: nevermind lol.. don't see it being too much of an issue as it does have wheels.

that ain't shit compared to my old crafstman, and I can carry that one no problem.

I might consider this jack cause in order to use my craftsman, I'd have to drive up on wood

I like this jack. Super low profile for lowered cars and can lift for almost 2 feet high. Very nice!

I looked at that jack while I was at Northern Tool, comparing a few differing options. F$%!er is heavy! Unless you are working on large trucks, I recommend a nice aluminum jack. Much easier to deal with. I ended up going with this one: http://www.northerntool.com/shop/too...5428_200345428

Any jack I own has to have "Country of origin: USA" somewhere in the description.

This jack is awesome but heavy as hell. For frs i would recommend harbor freight al jack. Both are awesome jacks!

Why?

I use a harbor freight jack. The car always goes on jack stands while working on it so I just need the jack to get it up. I would think most jack failures would be from leaving it under load for an extended period of time.

I leave the jack under the car (with a little less load) after the car's on stands just in case the stand slips.
