Custom made Armrest
The armrest is now available in FT86Club!!
Here's the link: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=22659 I have a friend who saw the light, and decided to make an armrest for our cars. Please see the pics. It looks SUPER nice. Its removable, slides back and forward, very simple and no drilling needed. See the pics. looks like it matches the boot pleather very well.
|
Not bad at all!!
|
Very nice for home made! How does it slide?? I would love to see the underside of it...!
|
It has a protruding piece which has the exact form of the console. It fits snugly and does not move around at all. It feels very natural.

I know this may be asking for the icing on the cake but does it by any chance lift up? So say it occupies the closer cup holder, leaving the rear one open to place a cup or spare bottle, and covers the free space by the cigarette lighter plug thing (I always forget if this has a proper name..) so that you can stick stuff there like a phone, wallet or etc.

Looks great!

I would label it "close but no cigar". I don't understand just partially covering the open pit in the console. Make one that covers the whole thing. In the first place there are many people (myself included) that don't have food or drink in their car so there is no need for leaving a cup holder exposed. The only drink that will be in my car is bottle water and there's a spot for those in the door pockets. If someone does need to expose their cup holders they can put the cover/lid/armrest on the passenger seat/rear seat or rear floor.

That is not a problem, I know for a fact the design can be easily changed to cover the whole area. :happy0180: |
