Wheel Directory: Technicraft T6 17x8.0 +43

Hey guys,
Just picked up my Argento FR-S two weeks ago and i wasn't planning on picking up new summer rims until the spring. I wanted to pull the trigger on a local set of Limited Edition bronze RPF1 in 17x8 45ET before someone else scooped em up, when i found a set of Technicraft T6 in the area. I never heard of these wheels before, and i used to work in the wheel industry, but apparently the factory that makes them also manufactures the CP-035 for Racing Hart. This is what i was able to find out from the wheel itself. See specs below.

Made in Japan
Manufactured by Taneisya (http://www.taneisya.co.jp)
1 Piece Forged
+43ET
17x8
13.8lbs (with hub ring and Work valve stem)
Full machined finish, no clear coat.

They're in really good shape with no curb rash. These were supposedly bought off a race team in Japan. The guy who sold them to me had these on on a WRX that he raced as well.

1 rim had a visible pot hole ding on the outside lip and another had a flat spot on the inside lip. The other two had no issues. I'm getting the two bent ones fixed at a local wheel repair shop and will snap new pics when i get them back and cleaned up.

The guy that sold them to me advertised them at 12.1 lbs but my bathroom scale put them at 13.8lbs with a hub ring and forged Work valve stem in it. It's still lighter than a similarly spec'd TE37 (16lbs) and i got the whole set for the price of 1 TE37.

These are most likely going on before the snow falls with the stock rubber and stock springs, but you never know... I may hate the sight of these wheels at stock height so springs might be coming sooner than later. lol. updates to come.

These are actually the same set of rims that were loaned out to the sellers friend for a show... all clean and shiny.

That's precisely what made this purchase a no-brainer for me. Wasn't interested in anything rice looking or heavier than stock. (p.s. i'm asian so no offence to asians)

Wider and lighter without attracting too much attention from wheel thieves. I really lucked out with these wheels. I couldn't be happier, and they're not even on the car yet.

New pic update!

Rims came back from the repair shop. Had them mounted up to the OE michelins minus TPMS sensors (keeping those on the OE rims for winter). As a testament to the build quality of these wheels 2 of them needed no weights at all when balancing. Pics were taken in the rain courtesy of Hurricane Sandy approaching the east cost. These are coming off in a couple of weeks before winter hits but i wanted to squeeze whatever was left of the fall cruising season. ;D

Both rims back from the wheel repair shop. Cleaned up and round and ready to rock. Note the fresh machining on the bead seat.

The tire's lip protector still doing it's job.

Front fender view flush angle. I'll be looking into 3mm spacers when i drop it in the spring.

Rear fender view flush angle. I'd like a 5 mm spacer on there but i don't want to get new studs.

1. I don't think you need spacers. It looks fine.
2. Why 215? Seems like you could have gone wider.

1. Looking to get it a bit more flush. Don't like the sucked in look.

2. Wanted to stretch the OE tires for a slightly stiffer sidewall. I wanted something lighter than stock for the summer without spending $ on new rubber. OE rims are getting snow tires.
