BRZ Stock Audio Video System / USB Drive Issue
Does anybody else have this problem?
I put a 4GB (FAT32 formatted) USB drive in the stock BRZ head unit and the unit seems to have a software crash??? :( I put the video on youtube. [ame="www.youtube.com/watch?v=l9z1pTDdvy4"]2013 Subaru BRZ Audio USB Drive Issue - YouTube[/ame] If that link doesn't work just go to youtube and search for "subaru brz usb issue". The audio system "sometimes" works with my USB drive and I can access the audio and video. But even then when I'm shuffling through video files it can crash too. Grr...... I'll post more videos about this USB issue later when I get the time. Thanks. `````````````` Update: (10/22, 130pm) The issue "may" be that the video files (.avi) on the USB drive aren't compatible with the head unit's software. It tries to read the (.avi) file, but it can't. So it goes crazy. Just a theory I have to test some more..... `````````````` Update: (10/22, 620pm) Yep! The error was caused by some incompatible (.avi) videos on the USB drive. Instead of the head unit saying, "This video format is not supported.", it seems to keep trying to read the (.avi) file, fails and then just semi-crashes; as seen on my youtube video. I will show this error to my dealership so they can forward this to SOA. Phew! |
