My cousin offered to powdercoat my stock rims for free..

I've seen Gold rims and they look nice, but everyone has gold rims pretty much. I was going to go for a metallic purple, but it sounds sketchy. I'm open to suggestions and whatever you guys have done!

PS - It's going to go on a Whiteout!

The stock wheels are going to look fugly no matter what.

Powder coat them black. It goes with white.

Metallic black... Gunmetal...

I would read up on powder coating wheels and the effects the heat will have on them. Not saying heat or the powder coating process caused these problems, just something to keep in mind...

Gold/bronze has my vote.

I was thinking about that. This guy did something similiar and it came out really nice in my opinion, but I don't want to be one of those guys to steal designs so I'm trying to stay away from gold unless I must. :/

After seeing those pictures a few days ago, I fell in love. The stock wheels work so amazingly well in that color:wub: But I understand your reasoning behind you not wanting to.

gold is tough, do it.

hippari 10-23-2012 02:05 AM

i was gonna say purple just as a joke, but now that I see you kinda wanna do it, I kinda wanna see it lol.

That gold looks like shit.

Black just disappears. I think a candy red would look pretty awesome on your car. Or maybe something like a med/dk blue. But both of those will stand out a lot. I think the metallic gold or a bronze would be the best option.

Any time I see a car with any gold on it my first thought is pimp-mobile. I guess that's one of the things that shows my age. It was the pimp-mobile that made gold badging/wheels popular.
