Megan Coilovers

Hi, new member here. Does anyone have the cheapest Megan Coils? How's the ride quality and the coilover quality? I heard from a friend that Megan and BC are basically the same. Is this true?

Megan/Ksport/D2 are all about the same from what i hear. BC is supposed to be a little better quality. I've heard good things about the Fortune Auto if you are looking for a budget coilover.

In my opinion, I would save your money over getting cheap coilovers. What are you going to be doing with the car to necessitate coilovers anyway?

A good strut/spring combination would be a better set up for daily driving. Unless, of course, you want to slam/flush the car.

The Megans and BC's are produced in the same factory, but they are not the same coilovers. Kind of like how ford makes a Focus and a Fiesta in the same factory but they are not the same model.

IMO - if you want the functionality and adjustability of a coilover in the sub-$1k range the BC Racing kit is the way to go. Opt for the Swift spring upgrade if you can swing the bump in price for a kit that rides and performs pretty well for the money.

I see. Thanks guys. Might just go with BC Racing then. I'm not really looking to track the car or anything. Just daily driven and occasional fun.

I would just get springs then. Coils will make a DD not ride well, add noise and etc, especially coilovers in that range.

RCE, and Eibach are good choices for springs that will get your car a bit lower and now ruin the DD handling.

get koni yellows with swift springs.

I agree. The lower end coilovers are not known for riding well for a daily driver. Many people do it and some don't mind the ride quality, but if your roads are not great then you'll definitely feel it.

If you must get reeeeeal low, then go for it, but for a functional improvement in handling without making a big change in ride quality you can do better with a good set of springs, some bushings, and maybe some Koni shocks when they're out.
