Clazzio Seat covers in our FR-S this time, and some LED interior courtesy lamps

Available now, from Clazzio (A Japanese leather seat semi-permanent cover goes over the stock seats and is held on tightly with clever straps and hooks, is an economical way of giving you the leather seats you've wanted (if you did). The memory foam padding actually gives a more supple hold than stock seats, and feels very snug at lateral and longitudinal g-forces too, unlike popular belief. This product costs about half the price of full leather re-upholstering, and is for all four seats in the FR-S/BRZ.

Clazzio seat covers are all fully custom made to order with choice of colors, materials, and combinations of them in center and side supports as well as stitch type and color.

Take a look.

Also, I took the same weekend to add some LED lighting to the floor and door courtesy area. The foot well is lit by a two stage LED array, with orange bright at door open, and dark red dim at headlight on and driving, and single red LED beams a broad dim light on the center console to help see the area without having a blinding light source at night.

I think it's a nice look. Do these covers accommodate the airbags in the front seats?

yep, Airbag compatible. :)

dem00n 10-21-2012 12:10 PM

Do the seat covers have a loose feel to them?
I quite like it, for the price of pre ordering them i might do it...
With red stitching of course. :D

Subie 10-21-2012 12:25 PM

Whose car is the one pictured above -- is that yours, Moto? It has the heel-toe gas pedal!

Turbowned 10-21-2012 12:28 PM

Not bad! They look a lot less like your normal floppy seatcovers, just don't look 100% OEM, either.

encity5 10-21-2012 01:51 PM

nice!, how did you guys wire up the door courtesy light?
And did you swap out the lights where the speedometer and tachometer are? or did you add additional lights there? it looks really bright in that area!

Also is the "single red led" thats lighting the center console area coming from the dome light housing?

SubieNate 10-21-2012 04:39 PM

I think the Katzkin ones look better.

Both sets look best when installed by a professional with a steamer. I think the fit of this particular car could easily be improved by someone with a bit of know-how.

Like the interior lights a lot, still undecided about the clazzios. The fit just doesn't look as tight as I would want. I am curious to see what options they offer though, usually you can customize thread color and choose between full leather or leather/suede.

gt865 10-21-2012 05:08 PM

i was going to get a set, but what stopped me was that it looks like a bulge in the lower lumbar area of the seat. Would this be caused by a gap between the seat and the cover, or is it the memory foam pattern? Regardless, it looks great!!

sastexan 10-22-2012 10:34 AM

I'd like to know about the armrest I see in these photos.

Please! Pretty please!

#87 10-22-2012 10:44 AM

Your gas pedal, link me plz

whaap 10-22-2012 10:46 AM

As stated above, the Katzkins do a much nicer job.

looks like it - on an auto too :mad0259:

BRZranger 10-22-2012 11:09 AM

More photos of the seats please!

Yes, Katzkins look better, they look better than other OEM leather.

I like the idea of this because its cheap, easily reversible and re-sellable.

If it gets damaged, oh well. If I damaged Katzkins, I'd go crazy.

jadewbj 10-22-2012 11:43 AM

Yeah they look a little baggy. I like the look just not the fit.

jazztennor 10-22-2012 11:56 AM

how did you wire the door light????? and did you the BRZ part in the door??

xravexboix 10-22-2012 12:44 PM

Clazzio Airbag testing for the seat mounted airbag. I've been selling these since 2007 or so and their product is outstanding.

No they take about 1-2 hours to install, and are very tight fitting. The looseness you see in this photo is from concave areas not form fitted yet. With use they become much more neat in fit. I've had them now for a few days and all seats fit very nicely without bubbles or wrinkles. It's in the shop right now getting some mods on the outside but I'll have updated pics after SEMA.

By taking a new wire set all the way from the dome light to each door, painfully... :) BTW: you need a lamp assembly from a Subaru BRZ as FRS just as a lens and no bulb holder or socket.

No, they are stock, but the camera exposure overexposed there since it is much brighter there than it is on the console and foot wells.

yes, I drilled a hole in the dome lamp housing, and carefully ran another set of wires from the parking lamp triggered circuit, and carefully pointed a single LED from the pin hole, aiming at the forward part of the center console.

Who's to say I won't have a Manual sooner or later too :) I've owned 7 AE86s in my life, so I am assuming there will be many more FRS to come in the decades.

Again, it was installed at Claszzio and this was taken moments after the install. They look a lot better in fit now that its been a few days and seats settled.

Looks like it is common for Clazzios to start off looking baggy, but they form after a couple days. I'm interested in picking these up. Clazzio also made covers for S2000s which look really nice, and s2000 seats have just as many curves as ours.

yup! it was an optional oem accessory upgrade on the JDM cars.

Mr.Jay 11-15-2012 07:38 PM

I am deff going to look for this then uber rare part

Moto-P 11-23-2012 07:36 AM

The pedal was never offered to production models. It was a part of the original design, and was almost final as far as it appearing in the very first printed catalogs and ads. However with concerns from recent floor mat and throttle claims, the decision was made to change this to the standard smaller throttle pedal. So no it was never an option or was sold to any FT86. This is a pre-production throttle. No there are no issues with it for me as I don't roll up carpets under pedals nor wear high heels and miss the pedal or mistake it for brake pedal. I have a lot more to say on this but here isn't a place for ranting about frivolous suits changing products...in America.

Not trying to thread jack, but here's our set looks in our FR-S. We went with the cross stitched set though, but it's still the same company and fitment.
