Scion FR-S OEM Intake Measurements 56k RUN AWAY!

I have a small obsession with sharing information. I took measurements of the stock intake pipe and box. All this measurements are somewhat accurate, but might be approximate. Feel free to copy the pictures and comment on them. Use them for your own projects. Sorry if not everything was documented. Here we go. Sorry for the pictures for being so big, but I couldn't re size them without losing a lot of quality.

I will Use the Next picture to represent the different areas of measurements. Again, take my measurements with a grain of salt, this is just something I did on a small amount of time. All measurements are done in Inches (")

Area B >>> Blue
Area C >>> Red
Area D >>> White

Correct me if I'm wrong, I love learning, but I believe that the Air Volume that is capable of being in the empty area of the box is a constant of approximately V=99.4.

Excellent pictures, I'm sure this will come very handy for aftermarket companies/custom techies. Only suggestion would be to maybe make the color scheme in the first pic a bit brighter/bolder to differentiate a little better....still, kudos to you, sir :respekt:

soros151 10-20-2012 01:01 AM

Done. Thank you sir for the feedback!

soros151 10-23-2012 02:25 PM

Bump. I'm looking to do the same for other aftermarket intakes and maybe filters so we can do a comparison. Maybe do one for Headers later on. Any ideas?

Definitely adding that around this days. Thank you for it.

Yes what's posted above is what I'm most interested in. Exact size of the hard MAF tube...

Spartan65 10-23-2012 03:12 PM

I was wondering what the MAF size is and the distance to straightener is, along with the straightener dimensions. I was thinking of constructing a MAF pipe with internal straighteners in alloy. Thank you for all your Hard work, and your wife's patience for putting up with you and us looky loos.

soros151 10-23-2012 03:43 PM

I will try to do this tomorrow. Thank you for the feedback.

LOL!! OLD HABITS! Actually commercial networks still use VPN accesses with 56k like speeds. But that's not that common. :bellyroll:

Unfortunately, it's been raining in my area, thus preventing me from mesauring anything. I will have the whole day Saturday to do the measurements. Sorry guys. My first delivery failure. :(
