Scion FR-S OEM Intake Measurements 56k RUN AWAY!
I have a small obsession with sharing information. I took measurements of the stock intake pipe and box. All this measurements are somewhat accurate, but might be approximate. Feel free to copy the pictures and comment on them. Use them for your own projects. Sorry if not everything was documented. Here we go. Sorry for the pictures for being so big, but I couldn't re size them without losing a lot of quality.
I will Use the Next picture to represent the different areas of measurements. Again, take my measurements with a grain of salt, this is just something I did on a small amount of time. All measurements are done in Inches (") Area A >>> Orange Area B >>> Blue Area C >>> Red Area D >>> White Area E >>> Yellow Area F >>> Green http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...ents/1aB-1.jpg Area A: Outer Diameter (O.D.) : 2.96" - 3" Inner Diameter (I.D.) : 2.8" http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...rements/20.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...rements/21.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...rements/22.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...rements/23.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...rements/24.jpg Area B: O.D. :3.2" I.D. :2.9" Length Area B+D: 9.25" to From Top Edge to Middle of 90* Bend http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...rements/1b.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...urements/3.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...rements/12.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...rements/16.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...rements/17.jpg Area C: O.D. :3" AreaC+E Length: 13.8"~ http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...urements/4.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...rements/13.jpg Area D: O.D. :3.06" I.D. :3" http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...rements/15.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...rements/16.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...rements/17.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...rements/19.jpg Area E: Length: 10.4" Width: 6.6" Height: 7" Air Filter Width: 2" http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...urements/5.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...urements/7.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...urements/8.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...urements/9.jpg Space Between Engine Pulley and Air Box: 1.70"~ http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...urements/6.jpg Area F (Air Box Intake Area) Length: 5" Width: 1.3"~ Height: 2" http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...urements/7.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...rements/11.jpg Added: 10/26/2012 MAF Outlet Area - Not Colored on top picture. LOL!! Let me know if there any other measurements you guys would like and I'll see if I can do them. |
Excellent pictures, I'm sure this will come very handy for aftermarket companies/custom techies. Only suggestion would be to maybe make the color scheme in the first pic a bit brighter/bolder to differentiate a little better....still, kudos to you, sir :respekt:

Done. Thank you sir for the feedback!

Bump. I'm looking to do the same for other aftermarket intakes and maybe filters so we can do a comparison. Maybe do one for Headers later on. Any ideas?

She's not bored, she's texting me.... jk
You forgot where the air straighter is. Spartan65's DROID RAZR |
Definitely adding that around this days. Thank you for it.

Yes what's posted above is what I'm most interested in. Exact size of the hard MAF tube...
|
I was wondering what the MAF size is and the distance to straightener is, along with the straightener dimensions. I was thinking of constructing a MAF pipe with internal straighteners in alloy. Thank you for all your Hard work, and your wife's patience for putting up with you and us looky loos.

I will try to do this tomorrow. Thank you for the feedback.
