GoPro Down - Shooting Videos and then....

So we were out shooting some Invidia videos for you guys and got back and went to take the GoPro off the rear of the car, only to find it missing. It's rainy and cold here so the surface of the car didn't help.

We back tracked and about 15 mins later we find it; scattered all over the road.

Now it's time to see if we can get the data off of it.

We realized we missed the SD card, drove back there, found it. Took all of 3 mins to locate it. :)

Always afraid mine would end up the same. Time for an upgrade.

MmmHamSandwich 10-19-2012 09:16 PM

Was that the position the mounting arm was in when it fell off?

FT-86 SpeedFactory 10-19-2012 09:31 PM

SD card is dead.... :(

We had it on the rear of the vehicle mounted on the bumper looking at an exhaust tip. Just to cold and wet.

I meant to say was that the position the arm was in when attached to the car? As is it looks impossible to engage the suction lock mechanism but I assume it was engaged when mounted to the car.

Did the whole mount fall off or just the camera case? Those things are usually pretty tough. I do R/C FPV and I've seen the aftermath of GoPro's both with and without cases falling hundreds of feet and they usually fare decently.

Aww got you. It was not in that position when mounted. I can only assume that is the aftermath of the hit and run performed on it. Everything fell off with the camera in it's case. The arm itself was mounted at a 90 so you could fully engage the suction..

Dang, I seen them fall from airplanes and make it through... bad luck man!

crazyfrenchbiker 10-19-2012 09:52 PM

That really sucks. Now you have an excuse to upgrade...Can I have it for parts :)

Starscream15 10-19-2012 09:58 PM

I've been afraid of using the arms (I have 2 gopro 2's) on the outside of the car for this exact reason. :(

Sorry for your loss. They aren't cheap.
