Possible solution for lack of steering controls?

http://i.imgur.com/RvJkH.jpg Bluetooth remote... I bet someone more handy than I could hack this into a smaller package and use in the cubby spot for the heated seats (empty for non BRZ limited). Holy small picture batman!

if you're gonna reach down there, away from the steering wheel, you might as well just use the head unit lol

Ahhhhh, this placement is specific to where you would be resting your arm while non shifting.. Without looking, my thumb can easily control volume and skip tracks (Samsung GS3). I will add that one could attach this to the steering wheel as well, but the look wouldn't be my cup o chai..

hrm, my hand rests on the passenger side, guess I've been doing it wrong.

Using the word solution suggests there's a problem. The absence of steering wheel controls is not a problem for me.

The second you have to take your eyes off the road to change that annoying song and push the nav screen repeatedly just right to get it to register.... there is a problem.. FRSees w/o Bespoke please disregard.

I'm not sure about using this as a place to mount audio control, but that's an excellent spot for all sorts of other stuff.

Put that dealy-o on the steering wheel and you've got a solution. Otherwise I agree it's easier just to reach up to the stereo buttons

I like tactile buttons vs screen mash.. Placement of the bluetooth remote is up to you to decide.. I can fly through tracks 3x as fast now....

Thanks - I hate using the touchscreen as it usually takes me three attempts before it works. I bought this device based on this thread, and it works great with my HTC Evo 4G LTE.

Unfortunately this is only controlling the phone via BT, but track and volume changes are both there for both Droids, and the ipeeps..

My hand (both actually) rests on the steering wheel when I'm not shifting. I guess I'm doing it wrong too.

I would have preferred steering wheel controls as well, have them on two of our other cars and if done well (like on our Mini Cooper) they are really nice to have, although when overdone, like on my wife's Fusion (something like 6 or 8 buttons on each side of the wheel) it can be confusing.

The ideal solution, although a lot more work to wire everything correctly, would be to use a WRX steering wheel and wire everything up to work, but I do respect the car's creator's decision to not put anything on the steering wheel because of the type of car it is.
