Make sure you shop around. You'd be shocked at the differences in quotes I got from different shops; around $2000! :confused0068:

I ended up getting 3M Scotch at DPtint in Tustin. Best price I could find. I don't think I want to throw down $200 more for xpel.

I don't want to make you feel bad. I'm only posting this as a warning to future readers. You made the wrong choice, especially if it was only $200. I have 3M and Xpel Ultimate on my cars. There is a world of difference in quality and if you researched it on pro installer PPF forums, you would have learned about how well regarded Xpel Ultimate is and how 3M is viewed in comparison. In fact, I'm about to remove the 3M on my IS-F (which cost $1800) and install Xpel on it.

I heard exactly the same thing regarding how bad the 3M is. I'm learned toward xpel too.

Hmmm...I did find a couple installation flaws. Maybe I could get the shop to refund me.

You should research PPFs on forums like tintdude. Here's a sample thread on how pro installers feel about 3M:
