Pics - Totalled FRS TBoned

13 Attachment(s)
Was at the body shop to get a pic for insurance on my front bumper. Adjuster says he has had a few come through already. Mentioned he had one in the back. Driver was ok, other driver just TBoned him at an intersection. Not sure if it's anyone here. Thought I would post pics if anyone wanted to see under the skin of the car... now I know how the snorkel routes.

Yes the car was totalled. More than 11k of damage.

Wonder if they'll sell the wheels for a decent price, assuming they're all straight.

On the upside, the body looks fairly strong, depending on how how fast and by what it was hit.

are they parting that out? need the A/C condenser

I'd assume they are fixing it... Since the damaged sheet metal has been cut out and the side panels and for and such have been removed...
Edit: fail... Should have actually read the entire post.... Misses the its totaled lone

Someone ought to get into the business of buying up totalled FR-S's and storing them in a warehouse so we all know where to get parts. If only I had the $$...

I wanted to get a snorkel to see if I could V-Band it and drop the airbox side down below the bumper for more air.

I want to take my FRS to that place... I was hit right behind the door on the passenger side.. It dented the quarter panel, got the rim scuffed and scratched the rear number... It looks like it might have bent the inner fender right in front of the rear tire.. Looking at these pics I'm wondering if mine might've crushed some.. Local dealership recommended body shop quoting 3-3.5k...

how is $11K totalled?

That's not more than 80% of the cars value

Wonder why they didn't repair, that's strange.

It's not necessarily 80% of value; that's a myth. The calculation for a total varies based on the insurance company and the estimator or adjuster can also use their discretion to total a vehicle.

To be honest, the damage to the structural parts of the chassis look enough that it could've done serious damage to the unibody (hard to say without seeing the car in person though).

The unibody was toast. He showed me where the floor was completely buckled in.

How is that only 11k? Looks like way more damage.
