Lol ever own a 80 or 90s dodge... Clear coat comes of mighty easy there and then the paint flakes away... That's happens with u have a single stage paint like a lot of oem paints have been (not saying the fr-s is painted this way as I have no idea, also, not saying all manufacture use single stage still.)... Custom jobs can be made to look as good and often better than factory and usually hold up longer... I delt with customers paint concerns regularly at the Toyota dealership I worked at, trust me there are plenty of crap oem paint jobs out there!

Yeah... I can totally agree with the clearcoat comment since I have a Nissan and Infiniti (both pearl white)... with exceptionally weak clear coat.

My comment was more geared towards 99% of people who don't do a full tear down / motor pull / interior gut / etc... and do a color change. The car is always best kept in original paint and protected with detailing / clear bra. It's my opinion but MOST of the time... resale value will agree with me as well.

yeah I can agree with a lot of people not taking the time to do it right, u get what u pay for... If u pay for a 700 dollar macco paint job... Well ur cars probably not going to look to fantastic. Haha
