Seems like the only thing I was ever good at was sculpting.
unfortunately (I made a post already"Buyers Remorse") This is the only thing that interests me career wise...
So I'm thinking about choosing something else. Art school is too expensive and I might not be able to find a job afterwards.
Any ideas please throw at me and Ill most likely consider it.
I currently work at a office and surprisingly don't mind it. I'm not very smart and the work is easy and non-stressful.

Anyway, My first year with clay was 12th grade, I went to college briefly and that's where the cooler stuff came from.

Let me know what you think-I would post this on reddit but it would get buried and people there can be jerks at times as well.

That baby sculpture creeps me out though.

Sculptures are hard... for me anyways. Any tips?

Awesome work. I have no artistic ability whatsoever. I'm more musically inclined.

You are very talented. Have you made any efforts to sell your objects? Could you work out a consignment arrangement with someone in your area?

I never really thought about selling it.. I wouldn't mind. I just don't have a way to fire the clay on my own. I wouldn't even know where to go to get that done outside of school, or where to sell it :/

If you're working with clay: slap the crap out of it with a block of wood. Lol seriously (wood helps to make it less moist aka more sturdy)
Get the clay as compact as possible. This way when you sculpt it won't start to sink and be weak.

Start like you would a gesture drawing. Break it down in shapes first, while also working on the pose you want.

Work on the figure from all angles (don't just focus on the front, that's how things start to look flat)

Don't forget about joints (a lot of people make "rubber arms" basically a body with no bones)

And most importantly, save the details for the very last.

I still feel like I have so much more to learn myself... I miss working with clay :/

the brain processes 3 dimensions easier than it does two dimensions. As a result, sculpting will make 2d drawings easier.

Spend more time envisioning what you are going to sculpt, than you spend actually sculpting it. See every curve, every cut, every single aspect to completion in your mind before ever touching the medium your working with. The story goes that michelangelo went into his studio every day for 6 months, doing nothing more than staring at the block of marble. Rumors flew and when he was questioned as to what it was he was doing, he said "im working". 3 years later, that stone turned into The David.

That is very true.
Do you sculpt a lot yourself? Do you have a favorite medium? (clay, wood, stone)

This just came to thought, would you ever consider trying glassblowing?

I have a Ceramics degree from KCAI but have long since moved in to 3D video and Game production. I still have my wheel and a good sized electric kiln that I never have time to use. I like to work in High fire, some wood fire and of course raku is fun looks like you like about the same.
Alfred in upstate NY competes’ with KCAI as one of the best ceramics school in the world. You have a nice portfolio started there with a little work you could defiantly get in and probably get a scholarship to help pay.

Don’t say you’re not smart, based on your art I don’t buy it. It takes introspection and creativity to accomplish what you have there. Creativity can be a very valuable asset if you know how to apply yourself. Trust me I know what I am talking about.

If you are truly not confident about your mind start reading and listening to books when you are working, driving or doing art. Try and do 50/50 nonfiction to fiction (the nonfiction is the key of course) every 5th book should be a classic I go thru at least one book a week often two. A well read person will inevitably be more knowledgeable about most things than 80% of our brain dead populace.
