Cleaning Wheel Wells

Yeah, that crap gets nasty. Anyone OCD enough to clean you're wheel wells, fender walls, whatever?

What recommendations for a good product? Someone mentioned engine cleaner but I had my doubts on that.

I use Adam's All Purpose Cleaner and a wheel well brush. I then wipe it down with some Adam's VRT.

Absolulty I am. I use a four step process and two different products. Step 1.) Power wash with a 25 degree nozzle to get rid of anything large debris. Step 2.) Spray a liberal amount of A) Simple Green and B) Meguiars All wheel and tire cleaner (It foams and works amazing on wheel wells, tires, and wheels.). I then let that soak for a minute or two. Step 3.) Use a cloth to give the wheel well a good wipe down (obvioucly do not use this cloth for anything else but the wheel well due to debris!). Step 4.) Power wash clean with either a 15 or 25 degree nozzle.

I washed my car today and I also did the wheel wells and I asked myself if anyone is anal enough to do it.

Hamza7 10-17-2012 11:10 PM

Yes a lot of people are anal enough to do it? I use Permanon Platinum instead of dressing, so next time all I have to do is a quick power wash and they rinse clean unless these heavy mud or something like paint then I have to put some elbow grease into it

Well... i know customers who like "wheels off" details. Suspension, wells, even multilink to be cleaned and protected. lol nothing wrong with it.

If you're not anal, just go away.

Getting behind the rear wheels seems like the hard part. I can get the brush into the front no problem but the rear I think I'll just have to do by hand.

Vukodlac 10-18-2012 09:37 AM

Yeah, I'm pretty OCD with the detailing. I hand wash the car once a week, regardless of weather.

And regardless of weather, the car always looks freakin good!

Thanks, for the replies. Guess what I know what my plan is for today :)

Apc and Daytona speed brush or ez detail brush.
