Back up camera integrated with license plate light
Hey guys,
I am trying to find a license plate light/backup camera combo that will fit our cars. I know China makes a lot of this kind of stuff for various car models and such. I have found one that is made for a Toyota Corolla.. my question is, is this light cover interchangeable with ours? http://www.happyshoppinglife.com/bac...ion-p-607.html http://www.happyshoppinglife.com/ima...ta-Corolla.JPG If not, do you guys know one that will fit for sure? Thanks! Brian |
Was looking into these things myself as well...
Sorry, I can't really give you an answer for that; I was waiting for someone to actually do this... Or when the dealership comes out with an OEM one for next year's model as they are a standard feature for next year's batch; apparently. |
They look really cheap... Just hope its actually a great product for that price ya know? Hope the best, just keep us updated if you persue.

Given the angle that the license plate light sits on our car, I don't believe this would work.
If you really want to give it a try, there's a Subaru OEM one for the Forester I think that uses that exact type of solution. |

Looks like this is what you were looking for:
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Car-RearView-...item5d46de615f I haven't tried it and would love to hear from anyone who has! |
This looks to be the same and is slightly cheaper:
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Car-C...524646127.html I just received mine not long ago. I hooked it up to a TV just to make sure it works and it looks fine. Not entirely sure how I'll install it yet though. My head unit doesn't appear to have RCA in. Might need to add a pin into a wire harness or something. Also I'm a bit skeptical about the angle of the lens cover vs. the camera. The link on aliexpress looked like the camera is pointed down further, whereas the one I received is like the one in the previous post (i.e. the camera angle is parallel to the mounting angle of the lens cover). I'll withhold judgement until I get it installed though. |
Is it possible to remove the guide lines on that camera? I think it's not possible for me to remove them on the head unit (Pioneer Canadian) so I'd rather not have two sets.

No there doesn't seem to be any way to remove the guidelines.
