I mean the platform....

Chassis...

I don't like box engine that much... its not that reliable... STIs always get more fire on track than EVOs...

Really? It's opposite, where I live (also my bro's area several older EVO engines blowing up & made big news).

BUT I gotta say boxer engine IS picky engine than EVO's I4 engine. BUT STI's H4 engine sure make sweet tq curve than EVO can.

What kind of problem did you found?

It could be tunning problem though...

High chance on fire could be up mount intercooler.... reduce cool efficency. This jut my guess...

Tq is not the most important thing if your car is not heavy, tq is the force that get your wheels moving... this is science theory. Maybe is not the same about cars.

Let's face it, EVO's & STI's are heavy

That's what I mean, I want to lower the car to improve the track performance at the expense of street performance.

you are going to get one for NYC right? do you have your own garage or just street parking?
I do have a garage but its fulla junk :( so driveway parking will have to do. Unless I clean it out before the FR-s comes into my possession.

@ ichi, evos are pretty light(not talkin bout evo x) . . . 2900 lbs is okay for a turbocharged 4wd sedan.

That's the lightest one. iirc US didn't sell lightest one. Look at older EVO's (I~V), they weight less than 2800lbs. That goes same w STi's/STI's

That's fine but wouldn't you really want to improve it overall and get some real adjustability?

We will have to see how the handling of the car is out of the box to see what it needs. I seriously doubt I'll do anything suspension unless it's custom rate springs and good dampers.

My garage is full of my 14 year old theft target and junk. I need to clean out some of the junk to put the FBRZS (not sure which I'll get :P ) in the other half. That's one good thing about the car being small though, less crap to move :P

I want to put it on the same diet the mule is on. Sort through my engine swap options, would love a rotary powered FT. :bellyroll: If I could swap in a 20b with a small turbo I would be ecstatic.

Realistically though, boost is my supreme goal. I wan't to build the engine in preparation for boost. If it turns out to be too high strung or not boost friendly, I'll probably do a modest boxer swap. An H6 would be pretty f'n cool too. Depends on what fits. And some sticky rubber wrapped around some sexy gunmetal wheels.

Appearance wise, as long it's black I'm happy. Couldn't care less about electronics or speakers as long as I have an AUX or Bluetooth.

If you have many track days. I would say YES! Go for good coilovers! KW/HKS/ohlin.

Well, if only some Auto X, road course. A set of good spring plus rear sway bar is good enough. Even some light track duty is fine.

in this order
-alarm/remote start(I live in Tucson)
-tint(I live in Tucson)
-short shifter(depending on OEM)

Type[R]+ 10-22-2011 12:31 AM

I will wait and see what spec we get, but I'd like to get 18" wheels, springs, CAI, full exhaust, stereo system.
