TSW Nurburgring
 

So, i was wanting to get a set of Nurburgring rims on my FR-S along with the Rocketbunny Wide fenders. I want a set of 19x9.5 Front, and 20x10.5 Rear with a lug conversion to the 5x114.3lug pattern. The tires are going to be a full set of Nitto Invo's that are 315/35Rear and 285/35Front. Thoughts? Could this work?

why would you put such large wheels on? Width I agree with, but why 19 and 20? And why 20 in the back?

Well, i wanted a wheel that was a 10.5 wide and not very many wheels come in a 18 or 19 with a width of 10.5. Either way im kinda just wanting to know if the width and the stock wheel offset of 40 will be doable by spacers, lug converters, and the widebody fenders.

And the tires i want come in the size rims i was considering.

Work Emotion Kai's, Forgeststar f14 are two nice wheels that come in 18x10.5

They will fit fine I would imagine, but you gonna be turning a lot of wheel and tire and with a 20" out back you wont have much room for enough rubber to lay down the power you make. For a small performance car like this you shouldn't put anything larger than a 18 on this car, especially out back.

If you put that combo on, with anything but a supercharger or turbo to power your car, your car will be a slug.

About the sluggishness, I plan on going either AP turbo or DP3E turbo, so thats actually why i want such a large tire out back. Don i know has traction issues even with traction control with his 9.5's i think on his BRZ. I want to not have that problem with traction and have a fine ass tire/wheel setup.

The Work Emotion Kai's are way too common and just don't want to look like anyone else ya know? Thats all i have against them and i really want the Mesh style wheel. I love that look.

Those are the forgestars, my favorite wheel personally.

Honestly, if you plan on going big power, I would advise something along the 18x9 front, 18x10.5 rear area. Its not so much about how wide the tire is, its about the quality of the tire. Most slicks you see run are no wider than 275. You have to find the perfect balance between width and stickyness.

Things to consider:
Is it a DD?
Weather it will see based on area?
Amount of power you will be making?

Nitto invos are good, but I would suggest nt555's or nt05's over them. If its more of a dd then nt555's and if not then nt05 are a great street tire(put the radial versions out back when power level needs them)

If you wanna get serious, you can slap on some MT et streets and dead hook with anything upwards of 500 wheel.

Its your choice and whatever you wanna do, do it, but you never see high hp, quick street cars running around 20's that get traction, not that ive seen anyway. Unless you are talking about maybe the new 5.0's or camaros, but they are big cars and look silly with anything less than 19's.

I was gona slap some invo's on the front for turning ability/track use and some nt05r's on the rear for track days, ie Drag/circuit. Doesn't that sound like a good setup though??

Im constantly searching and researching about the width of the tires i want and the power that i want to be putting down for those specific tires and widths ya know? If I can get one of the turbo kits that proves to make a constant 450w+ then i think that it should prove to be a great offtheline setup. I also plan on other mods such as the GT-spec braces and HKS Hypermax GTIV coilovers.

What do you think about that?

I do like those honestly, but i was considering the Nurburgring ones because they are suppose to be really light and really strong due to the "Rotary Forging" process.

If its a weekend warrior, I would suggest MT et streets out back. They are the best tire for the street short of a full slick. You can run invos in the front no problem.

You can run a 275ish MT and hook up fine, they will ware quickly though but you wont need a very wide wheel to accomidate them(9.5)

There is much more to hooking up than just wheels, although they help the most and are the foundation for a good launch. Control arms, the ability for the car " squat " off the line and overall weight transfer of the car.

You will have to pick between drag and corners, and go from there. You cannot make a car great in both as they require different ingredients to flourish in that aspect. You can have a car that's decent in both, but not great.

Forgestar for sure over TSW. Pick the exact offset you want down to the millimeter and more exotic finishes available as well. The gloss gunmetal for one looks really nice. I would also suggest looking at the SSR Professor MS3.

18x10.5 +22 with 255/35 and 265/35 tires on this Rocket Bunny car.
Also Crawford is now running 9.5 +38 with 285/30R18's in the rear if you are just getting the kit to get bigger tires you may not need it.

Forgestar will actually set the offset to be perfect when you tell them what car its going on, keep in mind they do take a while to be delivered as every set is made to order.

Well, im not rollining in the dough lol but how much would a set of YOUR choice be.

BTWW THANK you so much for all your input. Not to bash, but you seem like you have an expensive experience in good cars and quality part. Which btw i do rather over all the Noobish people buying these cars and sacrificing for parts. Give me a good setup for the Rocketbunny fenders with some good tires. I love wide and i want a good offset. With a 18-19 setup for front and rear. Thanks alot

I got quoted $1350 for a set of 18x8.5 Forgestars which is very reasonable, wider would be a little more expensive but should still end up cheaper than buying the 19 and 20 inch tires and you also wouldn't have to buy adapters. The forgestars would most likely be cheaper when you factor in the tires and adapters.
