Houston - Work for Beer

TEIN Flex coilovers are on their way. Rear control arms too.

Going to install myself, but if anyone is up for it, will trade beer for some help. I don't have a garage, so will need to do it on a nice evening (or weekend afternoon).

Will post when I have an eta.

Height area!

I'm only a few miles from you. I'm pretty sure I have 99% of the tools needed to do it. Could load up my 86 SUV and meet up.

Let me know if you are down

Coilover install meet?

fmsida 10-17-2012 12:11 AM

Depending when, I may be able to join for assistance. Never done a coilover install but I am always up to a challenge. I can bring my own beer and my tools / jack stands.. i hope its not this weekend since I will be in san antonio. (Sigh)

Thanks for all the offers. I have all the tools (maybe a good torch wrench would be helpful).

Parts should be here on Monday (10/22). I am open to times to do this. The only restriction is that this will be done outside so needs to be decent weather. Lighting should not be an issue.

A bunch of us got together to install springs and struts on some GTI's several years ago. Was a good time. All are welcome.

Don't want to sound stupid, but what is a Coilover? I do not know much about cars, however I live in Houston (Black FR-S) & I can supply plenty of beer!

Glad to see there are some FT86 folks in Houston. I live in Pearland (originally from Austin) and plan to Auto-X mine with SCCA here locally and track days at Harris Hill in San Marcos and hopefully MSR someday.

Bought my car from Ron Carter in Alvin from the Sales Manager who also has a track day prepped FRS (full roll cage etc.).

I am an old fart and running all over the place with my step kids soccer games locally and spending time with my older kids in Austin, but hopefully will find time to catch up with you folks someday at one of your events.

Love my Graphite FRS. It's been in the shop with the dreaded CEL issue and waiting on new ECM whcih should be here in 3 weeks. Stuck in a loaner Camry SE for now.
