Question, I plan to order my frs this weekend. Are there any tips I should know about. Every dealership I go to says something different. There is one dealership that says they can get it to me first week in Nov when it comes to port but then i asked him if the car was for the dealership ifself and he said no ones claimed it yet and just to come in and put a deposit down.

When ordering, is there a way they get you like a VIN to confrim your order??

Yes, I got a VIN number when my car arrived at port. They should be able to for you.

I just ordered my FR-S MT Asphalt yesterday. Dealer was pretty upfront in saying they can't give me a clear delivery date. The sales person and sales manager said the earliest I should expect it is mid December.

Haha true enough though this my first car (buying myself) + first manual + first FR. I'm concerned about it getting here when the rain moves in since I'll be learning all this during that time since I'm a noob at everything with this. I'm just happy I have an eta now.

As for the VIN stuff I haven't gotten word on it for mine, though I'm sure you get it when its either on the ship or getting off.

Figured I would wait until mid November before I start calling him a bunch

Ordered it about a week or two ago, and my dealership called me saying it will ship out Oct 18, tomorrow and come in as early as Nov 10th. Hopefully it'll come in by mid November.

That turn around time seems faster than I would have thought! Hope it works out the same for me. I have 3 orders ahead of me right now so all I can do is play the waiting game.

I've emailed my dealer twice since order on 6/12/12 It seemed like the second time he gave me an attitude through the email, though i cant say for sure. Now i just go through SOA.

I got my VIN while it was on the boat to Jacksonville, was still on the boat, plus they Removed all the factory installed options when it got to port.

I've got about 30+ emails from my sales guy. He's actually very helpful and cool

Southeast just got like 100+ FRS in sitting in port of jacksonville, fl and/or on the boat. Mostly whiteout with spoiler. Its on its way to the SE region dealers. Mine is also in port and due for delivery on the 23rd.

I ordered mine on September 18. It arrived at the port in NY on October 5. I got notice that it made it to the dealership Wednesday, and I'm going to pick it up today!
